Love em Bagpipes do you?

Love em Bagpipes! do you ?

I find the Bagpipes very fascinating bags-N-pipes. Love the sound liken the kilts, the whole mystique of it all. OK I love plaid just love plaid! Men lookin very sexy in kilts too. I know there are Scottish bagpipes & Irish ones I even heard of Spanish bag pipes, say wha? Spanish bagpipes?

The earliset recorded bagpipe is 400 BC from Athens that's many years ago Jack. I wonder what the difficulty level is, to playing pipes? and the my question is:

"Why men do not wear under garments" or is this a thing of the past? this has alsways puzzled me need to research this more. At least some are giving it a try, see below heheheh.

Bagpipes anyone?

get down brotha, wonder what he is playin? lol

Long way to the Top if you wanna Rock N Roll-AC/DC
see, even AC/DC loves the bagpipes!
and

Mull of Kyntires-Paul McCartney & Wings see Paul likes em too!

thoughts anyone?

All I got is a photograph,so I hoped lol

All I got is a photograph, so I hoped.

Man has this ever happened to you. Ok. so I have an HP printer wanting to print foto's. well I attempted to do this on regular paper, (well it had worked before) the picces came out warped and distorted, damn! I than ran/drove to the local Walgreen's where the foto department suggested that:
1. I cleaned the metallic heads of the cartridges with a Q-tip and alcohol.
2, to replace the cartridge (why would I do that they're basically new) didn't bring cartridge of course.
3. buy foto paper for piccies-pictures.

foto courtesy of Google- Love google search!
I opted for the q-tips & alcohol, rubbing alcohol, ok kids. So I get home clean em up and replace them into the printer. Man the damn piccies still came out a bit grainy or lined. so I did a self clean test, ok, works a little better. I didn't want to waste the glossy Kodak sheets that came in a pack of twenty for $5.99 a little steep to me. I finally got a few pictures 3 plus hours later, still a little dark (picture correction was on full!) but serves its purpose for today. The quality is not brilliant but serves a purpose for the time being. What a time consuming process for 4 printed pictures. Sheesh hahahaha! Yes you can try this at home. all comments welcome!

Some of the best licks ever written from great artists part 1.

I thought it might be fun to post some of the "best licks & tunes" ever written, along with em fabulous Beatles. In coming weeks I will post music from all music genres This is part 1. Since Paul mentioned he liked Radiohead on Radio 1 this past week I thought I'd post this lil ol vid, Radiohead at Amnesty International. One kicken tune, haunting, melodic and? well you'll have to listen for yourself. Radiohead kicks-ass.

Try a little Tenderness-Otis Redding.
I was blow away when I first heard this song Lovin it. I wanted to post "Cigarettes & Coffee" by Otis but No cool vids for this soulful song damn! Otis Redding sure had a soulful voice didnt he? they don't make em like the old greats anymore.

Telephone line-ElO- Top of the Pops
Ok I just had to post another vid from ELO another brillant lil song by Jeff Lynne. The vid is a little rough but a great song.
The brillant thing about this band is they played their own intruments thats right, chello, viloin, horns the whole nine. Whoever said that Elo was the "poormans answer to the Beatles" well is dead wrong, there is nothing "broke" about ELO at all!

Bye Bye Bonds Isnt it a pity! is he a creep?

Bye Bye Bonds, Isn't a pity is he a CREEP?

Oh darn! Barry Bonds NOT returning to San Fransico Giants next season! Isn't it a Pity? Let Mr. Personality go, there are plenty of other potential contenders with talent in baseball without, under cover (steroid) scandal who should be recognized in baseball.

Marc Ecko, a fashion designer, purchased number 756 for $750,000 and is taking votes on the Internet on what he should do with it: 1.Give the ball to the Baseball Hall of Fame,2.brand it with an asterisk or 3.blast it into space. hahahaha! If you'd like to vote on the balls fate click here

Here is what Bonds had to say reguarding Marc Eckos purchase a quote from San Fransico Chronicle:

"He spent $750,000 on the ball
and that's what he's doing with it?
What he's doing is stupid." Barry Bonds

ahh great answer Barry, geeez! (not) Isn't it a pity?

Paul McCartney on BBC radio 1 today

Paul McCartney on BBC Radio 1 today

Today Paul McCartney kicks off the 40th anniversary of BBC's Radio 1 where Macca will spin the disks of some of his favorite tunes plus a few of Pauls own music. Paul also to make a "special announcement" at 1pm.
Listen to Paul McCartney today live on Radio 1. I wonder if Paul will be playing vinyl or cds? hehehe
What will it be, a new tour? there is a rumour that Paul will introduce the
Beatles to itunes. It's 7:45 am here in California. it's 4pm in the UK right now? lol correct me if I'm wrong. according to the BBC website, Pauls show will kick off at

9pm tonight UK time 1pm west coast time.

Foto: from BBC Radio 1 webby

Cannot wait to hear Paul live on the radio! does this rock or what! you go Paul, woohoooo! Man Radio 1 is rawkin it out now, as Im listening! What is the X-Factor? is this American Idols counter part? laughin at the snippet sung by Thomas is it? the link above in green is a link to Radio 1 webby. please post if you are going to listen to Paul today! 2 hours and 14 mins until Paul. Is Paul live or is this pre-recorded?

lol I just emailed one of the DJ's on radio 1 Scott Mills (any relation to Heather? ha)

Hey Radio 1

you guys are "off the hook" Im liken your station, tons! Im listening to you via my blog waiting on Macca an his DJ debut. a HUGE Macca/Beatle fan I am.Tell me is Paul spinnin vinyl or poppin in cds? lol ta harleyblues, Christina >from California, US Live chat here on Radio one here two minutes until Paul!!! the chat room is closed!

A Semi-narrative of Pauls show:

Paul bought his first record at "Currys" Be-Bop-a-lula by Gene Vincent. The Beach Boys "God Only Knows" is an emotional song for Paul, "it does it for me" said Paul, He loved singing it with Brian one of Brian wilsons best, a genius.

Paul states "I will never tire playing "Hey Jude" written for Julian Lennon, originally titled "Hey Jules." since Julian was going thru had family times. Paul digs the opening piano in Radioheads-Everything in its right place. Paul also fell in love with some music before his time, "his dads era" cheek to cheek by Fred Astire romantic and technically great said Paul.

Macca plays the Sex Pistols as his 7th song, right on Paul! a great song for its time "pretty Vacant". When Paul heard this next song on a radio show one night he said "it knocked his bloke off" hehehe good one. What did I say-by Ray Charles.

A Day in a Life was written by John Lennon & Paul from news paper snippets. They were banned from the BBC for the lyrics "4,000 holes in Blackburn, Lancashire" as being to suggestive. Paul also says he likes todays bands who can play live the "killers" are one such band.

After the breakup of the Beatles when John Lennon came up with Imagine - Paul was like "Oh yeah, Johns come up with a classic" I wonder if Paul cried, when he played this? he wonders if John knew he was a fan of his and hopes John was a fan of Pauls as well.

Paul says he loved Little Richard and could not believe his voice,Claimed Little Richard

"I taught Paul everything he knows, wooooooooooo" Paul mimicin Lil Richard. lol The first time Paul ever heard of Elvis Presley was when he went to the "Liverpool int. for boys" on the back of mag cover (Of the enemy?) was Elvis Presley, "The kinda name you had to learn first, and usual name" says Paul. As for ME I missed the Day in a Life bit, and what paul had to say while typing, ha.

Well as a whole, well done Paul! I loved the show. I loved all the songs choices with the exception of Little Bear, Yikes! below is a list of all songs played by Macca!

Wow, Paul plays the Sex Pistols! Right on Paul!

1. Be-Bop-a-lula Gene Vincent song 2.God Only knows by the Beach Boys 3. Hey Jude-The Beatles. 4. Little Bear- The Gilmonts? 5. Everything in its right place-Radiohead 6. Cheek to cheek-Fred Astaire 7. Pretty vacant- The sex pistols 8. blackbird-the Beatles 9. What did I say-Ray Charles 10. A Day in a life-The Beatles 11.When you were young-The Killers 12.Imagine John Lennon 13. Long tall Sally-Little Richard 14.Heart break hotel-Elvis Presley 15.Sgt Pepper

Stay tuned!

Just had to add a Day in a Life-the Beatles
for Paul & John and their naughty lyrics. I must say tho, could they have not produced a better vid for such great lyrics?

Featured artist The Temptations

Featured artist The Temptations

Well I haven't posted a featured artist in a few weeks but today it's the almighty Temptations.
Formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1960 as The Elgins, the Temptations have always featured five male (brothers) vocalists/dancers. The group, known for its recognizable choreography, distinct harmonies, and onstage suits, has been said to be "as influential to soul as the Beatles are to rock".
After signing with Motown & Barry Gordy in 1961 the Elgins changed their name to the "Temptations"The original founding members of the Temptations were Paul williams, Eddie Kendricks, David Ruffin, Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin. this is only a snippet for there is a wealth of information of this "Supergroup" Only one original member remains, Otis Williams, but the "Temps" as they are affectionately called, still make and perform to this to this day. Give it up for the Temptations and enjoy the videos some of my favorite Temps tunes!

Ball of Confusion-The Temptations

I want a Love I can see-The Temptations & remembering Eddie Kendricks & David Ruffin

Get Ready-The Temptations man listen to those melodies and check out em dance moves!

Names

Whats in a name ask yourself?

hehehehe I just read something about using your real name for your blogs, well I prefer not too. My nickname IS "Harleyblues" has been for years and people know me by this name. Some people call me "McCartney" and that is rather obvious as to why someone would call me McCartney.
(thanx Paul, lol) Harleyblues, has many meanings for me, as your nicknames might have for you.

My friends call me Christina, but than again this is on a personal level, and if you'd like to be personal well call me Christina than. But please, donnot call me any derogatory names you'll never get a response, that is pleasant. We all like to stand out in a crowd as individuals, so whatever name you have, is cool by me, with the exception of ugly bastiff names in history. You know what names come to mind, feel me? This reminds me of a old TV gingle that goes something like this:

"Ahh, ya doesn't has to call me Johnson! You can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay, or you can call me Johnny or you can call me Sonny, or you can call me RayJay, or you can call me RJ... but ya doesn't hafta call me Johnson"

What's your name-Don & Juan
wrote in dem early 60's lmao I just couldn't resist! I love Oldies,Old School & em Lowrider Oldies. This is the only original sound track I could find beside a straight Sleeve cover version but hey, at least you can learn the lyrics right?

Gijon Spain 04 a McCartney experience part 4

Gijon Spain 04 a McCartney experience part 4
The night before the gig!

Continuing on, that night we went into the rehearsal we were quiet as church mouses but got "the boot" after a half an hour. Paul was doing "Helter Skelter" first time ever live since the Beatles & "Inspite of all the danger" the very first Beatles song! Man this was history in the making as I have prayed for Paul to do this live for years. Helter Skelter that is.

Clearly you could see someone twirling around and having a great time in front of the stage it was Heather McCartney such a fun sight to see for us fans. I thought it was a small girl at first but it was Heather, dancing round. The people that worked for the tour were loud, noisy & cheering, but we the fans got tossed out, I still wonder why we were booted out? we left quietly, and stood outside the stadium listening to the rest of the rehearsal.

People were gathering around to listen, also cheering after each song it was about 12am. People kept coming wondering what was going on? Sure they had to knew that Macca was in town? fans across the street were standing on their balcony's enjoying the music also, it was a site!
After the rehearsal show... we saw Paul's car driving by slowly ...waving from his limo... wish he would have stopped and said.. HELLO!!!¬

Paul McCartney at Glastonbury 04- Helter Skelter-Gijon Spain was the BEST when Macca performed it live for the first time.Just a snippet for you all.

Oprah surprised she never married a Beatle?

Oprah's surprised she never married a Beatle?

lol well that's news to me, Oprah says:

" She wasn't as nervous interviewing Dave Letterman recently, as she was Paul McCartney"

she always dreamed of the Beatle, and as we all all know never married him~
excerpt here from Extra:

Oprah Winfrey made a surprise marriage confession to “Extra” in New York today, revealing that she always wanted to marry Beatle Paul McCartney!
“I’m really shocked that I never married Paul McCartney,” she confessed. “As a kid growing up I had every single dream of mine that I wanted to come true, to come true, except I never married Paul McCartney.”
harleyblues note:
what made Oprah bring up this confession today, was she recalling past guests who made her knees weak, or was it the possibility of flubbing up and interview, and quickly thought of Paul? David Letterman is the King of late night after all and can outshine just about anyone in his presence. Or could it be all the media attention lately with Macca, "kickin it" with other women that had Ms. O. reminiscing, what if, what it?

thoughts anyone?

Gijon Spain a McCartney experience part 3.

Several hours later Geoff Baker returned, I told him I think "he rocks" and we discuss Geoff on Pauls official webby alot in heated debates.
"I Rock said Geoff ?" Yes, you treat the fans so well. Geoff, I have been standing here for hours, I know he said, Paul will arrive about 6-7 pm.

The media was arriving in droves at this time they were very pleasant. After the interviews of fans (the Spanish press took many piccies of us) I was in one holding a MACCA press kit. (see part 2) One journalist
Juan Carlos gave me the press kit yes, I asked him for it.lol. he was a gentleman and very friendly to the fans. An hour later Paul arrived in a blue Mercedes Limo (shown here) behind the gates. We did not have access to him..he waved out the top of the limo.

Starbucks just sucks can you say Boycott?

Starbucks a what a joke!
Months ago Starbucks released
Paul McCartneys new album Memory Almost full in June. (Great Album!) On the day they started the promotion of the CD, I went to my local

Starbucks in Sunnyvale off Wolfe road, I asked them in all my excitement if I may have the poster of Paul in the window!.
"Oh sure, just keep checking back with us, Yes you may have the poster!". I was so excited! I'd go into Starbucks every couple weeks and asked about the poster, I even printed my name first and last in small red ink. on the McCartney poster.
"Keep checking back with us" they stated. Then I began to get the dreadful run around, you know, that feeling when no one knows what the heck you are talking about or hasn't a clue? The shift manager even took down my phone number and stated she would call me. In and out of the store I would go, they knew who I was.
The poster was taken down at the end of July . Now, no one knows where the Macca poster is? Why did they have to lie and play games? I'm really not happy with them at this moment.
Why promise a diehard McCartney fan something than NOT deliver? actually it pisses me off.

Memory Almost full promo poster in question

So I will be calling the manager to see if they disposed of the poster after months of waiting to get it. Just spoke to the manager of the store she flat out denied she was there when she stated "wait until after the promotion." one Friday evening.

"The poster is a trademark of Starbucks" she claimed they are not aloud to give anything away. Why did your people lie and give me the run around I asked her? "oh probably to make you happy she said," "say what?" If I would have known, I would have told you that you couldn't have it (the poster).

I said you know, I'll be blogging about this, lying to people and giving them the run around is-just, NOT good customer service as a paying customer! You can do what you want, this is a free country said the manager, with a laugh in her voice. What a joke.

This is a principle issue here. Your only as good as your word and the product you sell, and the people that represent your company, in this case (flat out liars) Geeesh, you know Starbucks is over rated in my opinion their coffee is NOT the best and over priced!

I think I'll be boycotting them from now on and get my coffee elsewhere, say Peete's or my local 7-11 which is much better and cheaper, ha!

side note: Mellisa was the only honest and friendliest one in the bunch.

update: during 60 minutes tonight, on Andy Rooneys segment, I happened to catch this lil tidbit: said Rooney "Starbucks coffee beans are over roasted, and the coffee has a burnt taste" well, well, well, good one Andy, I couldn't have said it better myself. So Andy Rooney doesn't care for Starbucks either? hehehehehe

please post your comments HB~

Paul MCartney GQ Man of the Year!.

wooohooo Paul,
Paul just recently has been named:

GQ magazines "Man of the Year!" in London. Sir Paul was honoured for his latest album and his successful US tour.
"Paul McCartney is not only one of our greatest living legends, he's also probably the most dignified,"
said GQ editor Dylan Jones.

Paul as he hightails it out the back door with pregnant daughter Sella McCartney, he did not accept the award in person.

Nice kicks Paul! A Well well deserving title congrats! You are the "Man" Paul.

But wait! Paul McCartney sitting with the lovely Elle MacPherson during the GQ award ceremony, such a lovely lady Miss "L" is ~ I could see Paul with Elle could you?

Is he or isn't he?

Is he or isn't he?

Entertainment Tonight asks the burning question are Paul McCartney and Renee Zellweger dating, are they an item? No the two are not, according to Paul McCartney reps even tho the pair have been spotted recently having dinner and attending a concert in recent weeks. Well I wonder what "Rep" for Paul denied this rumour? I hope it was not Paul's PR guy Paul F.Whom lied to me in LA this past June about working for Macca sheesh. For Paul's sake I hope this is not true either!
stay tuned!

This War and President Bush!

The War & President Bush

OK, I just have to say my peace here today, more of a statement than anything else, am I the only one here sick of President Bush & this war in Iraq? No, I'm not anti-American but I am ANTI WAR & ANTI BUSH! sorry Pres, but in plain American english

"You suck at leading this country & this farce of a war in Iraq",
.
bring all the troops home already this war is done "played out" let Iraq run its own country! Who is the government to police the world anyway? It makes me sick just thinking about it. I saw the silly little speech you gave to the troops today in Iraq on this Labor day.
.
Yes the troops need support & that is to bring them home, not a bunch of bullchips banter selling "wolf tickets."to the troops. End the war now!

Pearl Jam w/ Ben Harper - No More (Lollapalooza 2007)please have a listen a song dedicated to a veteran named Thomas and the war in Iraq.

On a side note: I just spent quite a few hours trying to locate
Eddie Vedders- Bridge School Benefit-song
"Find another country" nowhere to be found so I will post another video,"No war" above.

an unlikely pair Paul & Renee?

egad! Paul McCartney & Renee Zellweger spotted having a cozy little dinner last week at the American Hotel on Main St. in Sag Harbor. see here

Slate magazine "Dear Prudence"

Slate magazine.
Years ago I found this funny lil webby online called Slate magazine poking fun at politicians and current day events with a satirical twist, to put it quit simply. I must say this website is absolutely brilliant! while sleuthing the site the other day I came across a feature named
"Dear Prudence" of course quite captivated by the name for its Beatle reference and song~ "Dear Prudence"

Prudence (not her real name of course) is what you would call a modern day
"Dear Abbey" people writing in for advice from how tos-what to dos, morals and manners. I must say it IS quit hysterical! Questions are formed into a video cartoon, "brill" than "Prudie"thoughtfully nicknamed, responds in a video letter as herself, also "brill" If I could figure a way to post a video here of "Dear Prudence" I will, of course my description of the site does not do it justice. See webby here

In the meantime why not listen to "Dear Prudence by the Beatles"

a lil Beatles history
The song is about actress Mia Farrow's sister, Prudence, who was present when the Beatles visited Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in India. Prudence, focused on meditation, stayed in her room for the majority of their stay. Lennon, who was worried that she was depressed, wrote this song for her, inviting her to "come out to play".
While the Beatles left the course, Mia, Prudence, Mike Love of the Beach Boys, and others, stayed and became Transcendental Meditation (or TM) teachers.

have your piccie taken for £20,000 by Mary McCartney, say what?

If you've always wanted your picture taken by a celebrity photographer here's your chance.
have your piccie taken for £20,000 by Mary McCartney, say what? "All you need is cash lots of iT."
Hotel Chatter reports that the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London is offering a new luxury package, the Mary McCartney Portrait Experience. Mary McCartney (the daughter of Paul and his photographer wife Linda) has taken the photographs of a wide variety of rock stars (she's a regular photographer for Interview magazine)

as well as actors such as Jude Law and Ralph Fiennes and even Tony and Cherie Blair. McCartney has been appointed the official photographer for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group's `I'm a Fan' brand campaign which also features celebrities.

The two-night package includes a feature suite, a two-hour spa ritual to prepare, Champagne breakfast daily, a bottle of vintage Champagne and an a la carte dinner for two in the restaurant, Foliage. The package starts at £20,000 and is limited to just ten guests. And I'm assuming that asking questions about her famous dad and his recent divorce are probably off limits.see here

harleyblues take:
are they freakin kidding me? Hell no would I pay that type of money to have my piccie taken! Sure I love Paul McCartney & all I support the McCartney family but that is ridiculous the regular working class folk could NEVER afford something like this, but than agian I suppose it isn't meant for us working class right? The package sounds fantastic however the cost is rather absurd this equals to $40,000 in USD. Damn, how nice it would be to afford this type of luxury. I'd rather follow Paul McCartney and entire tour if I had this type of Moo-lah.
