BAKER BANNED! NOW SEE MELONS IN COMFORT
Purplemelon patrons were today said to be "naturally knocked out with delight" by the news that human chimney and bronchitic PR Geoff Baker has been banned from smoking at gigs by Act of Parliament.
"This is great news", Purplemelon fan Nick Witkowski told the PM Press Office, "now for the first time we will be able to see the band instead of been blinded by Geoff's smog like soldiers under gas attack".
The all-new-clear-view and diphtheria-free Purplemelon return to their popular haunt at The Troubadour Club (265 Old Brompton Road) on Saturday night (July 7th). They are wildly expected to be onstage around nine.
Sources close to the band which is exciting London as we speak suggest they will be outing new songs alongside the PM favourites that turned the Troubadour cellar bar into a bopping sweatshop of female frenzy a few weeks back.
Sources close to Baker say that the pleuristic publicist has been told to behave himself. His spokesman said Mr. Baker would bear it in mind.
Purplemelon are: Tom Hill (lead vocals, guitar), Eric Joyce (bass), Windsor McGilvray (drums), Owen Barry (lead guitar) and they are very good. Saturday's show will be filmed for the forthcoming web-TV reality rock soap This Is Purplemelon.

Too funny. This story reminds me of when I went to see Julian Lennon at this little club in Atlanta. No one was smoking but him and his band and by the end of the show the whole place was filled with smoke! :)
