Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Kwanza, Navidad, Festivus and Noel to all of my friends near and far!

As I'm writing you, Robert Plant and Allison Krauss are on XM Satellite Radio.. have you heard it?? Man... it is really special! Real music, not cynical, not trendy... it's hip without trying to be.. Sounds like it could have been recorded anytime in the last 50 years. Classic.Anyway, I just wanted to send some holiday love out to all of you tonight. More than ever it feels like we're all looking for a soulful season rather than the breathless buying race of seasons past. My folks just moved back to LA after 20 years in Durango, Colorado.. They now live 5 minutes from my place and I'll be with them for Christmas along with other family and friends.
This just in!!!

I'll be playing a show with Mike Campbell at the historic Imperial Ballroom in LA on Jan 19th. I'll be joined by my fantastic band, Black Unicorn.. They're BACK!!! This is a private show but I will be giving away 8 laminate passes for the show in a contest to be announced on my site, brian-ray.com so stay tuned!And, I'm writing new songs .. I was smacked upside the head with new inspiration a while ago!.. Can't wait to explore some new ideas in the studio and maybe I'll play some of them for you soon.Thanks for tuning in for this moment.. Now, get back to gift wrapping, stuffing your faces and stockings, hanging with family, partying and all that good stuff we do
