harleyblues,

Actually I'm pretty sure that Keith Richards and Mick Jagger would agree with John and Paul's # 1 position. The Rolling Stones were actually big fans of The Beatles and good friends with them. Mick Jagger was at 4 Beatles recording sessions and Keith Richards was at 2 of them with him!

The Beatles even wrote one of the Rolling Stones first top hits with the song,I Wanna Be You're Man in early 1964. And in May 1967 when The Beatles were recording their song Baby You're A Rich Man,Mick Jagger came just to stand on the sidelines and watch and listen to them record it and his name is on the tape box because he likely sang at the last verses.

Mick Jagger was also with The Beatles in Bangor in August 1967 when they went to study meditation for the first time and they got the phone call their manager Brian Epstein was found dead. Paul and Linda were at Mick and Bianca's wedding in 1971 and on the internet you can find several pictures of Mick Jagger with John Lennon in the 1970's.

Mick Jagger also used to come over to Paul's house a lot and hang out in his music room during 1966 and 1967,and Paul says in his authorized biography by Barry Miles that he was the one who turned Mick Jagger on to pot,in his music room, and Paul says which is funny because many people would have thought it was the other way around.

On a 1995 Nightline Beatles show, there were many different music artists from many different music fields such as a young black jazz musician,a middle aged black opera singer, the classical violinist Izak Perlman who said he plays his children Bach,Beethoven and The Beatles,Meatloaf,Steve Winwood and Brian Wilson. Brian Wilson said after he played With A Little Help From My Friends on the piano that he just loves this song, and he said Sgt.Pepper is the single greatest album he ever heard, over his own Pets Sounds album!

Brian Wilson then said he feels that Lennon and McCartney were the 2 greatest song writers of the 20th century! Brilliant classical composer and conducter Leonard Bernstein also said this about them! And on a CBS morning show in 1991 Elton John was asked who he musically admires, and he said you can talk about your Rogers and Hammerstein but for the quanity of quality songs Lennon and McCartney wrote in such a short period of time, they were the greatest song composers of the 20th century! And even Ozzy Osbourne has been a huge Beatles fan since he was a teenager and he said in a 2002 online Bender Magazine interview, that Paul McCartney is a genuis and The Beatles Are The Greatest Band To Ever Walk The Earth! He says not loving The Beatles is like not loving oxogen!

Also, Charlie Watts in a interview called,Charlie Watts The Drinking Man's Rolling Stone from 1973 in a Magazine called,Zig Zag that was online a few years ago,he says that The Beatles and The Rolling Stones were similar as people. And he says what was so great about The Beatles is they wrote one great single and great album after the next!

And as I'm sure you know, in the recent anniversary issue of Rolling Stone Bob Dylan says he's in awe of Paul McCartney's musical talen as a singer, composer, his melodies and that he can play any instrument! He said he's the only one he's in awe of but he also said there were no better singers than John Lennon and Paul McCartney!

Hello anonymous

lol I'm quite aware of all you posted I LOVE Dylan's "amazement awe status" of Paul, thankyou for providing a bit of history, wish I had been there! One thing you did forget to mention Linda McCartney used to date Mick Jagger & The Stones were her first photo assignment imagine when she walked up onto there yacht!
Brian Wilson & The Beatles were close mates, yes, Brian Wilson is a riot. I recall that snippet Paul recalling Brian turned Paul onto pot (we know better) Ozzie Osborne has a piccie autographed of him & Paul in his living room (I WANT THAT!)People seem to think there is a rivlary between The Beatles & The Rolling Stone, this is all made up of Stone & Beatle fans!! lmao!
Thankyou for posting very cool right on

ps why remain anonymus?
