Coach Bill Walsh past away today at 11am after a long battle with leukemia. What a giant of a man, a legend, a brilliant coach who led the San Fransico 49ers team to Super Bowl victories in the 1981, 1984 and 1988 seasons.

Bill Walsh began his football career at Fremont high school in the bay area, than moving on to the Oakland Raiders in 1967 hired by Al Davis. He than moved on to San Jose State then to the San Fransico 49er's franchise in 1979. Following Walsh's 10 year tenure at San Fransico he finally went on to Stanford University in a administrative role.
In 1980 Coach Bill Walsh was nick named "The Genius" he certainly was an Icon in the the Bay area. I'm not a 49er fan but a Raider fan however, it was great seeing Coach Walsh in action with his 49ers. Under his era Kenna Turner, Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, Jerry Rice & Steve Young just to name a few, ALL legends going down in football history. I was terribly saddened by the loss of Bill Walsh, I actually shed some tears for him. You will never be forgotten Coach look down at your friends, FANS, & family and smile that infectious smile of yours.
