Geoff Baker Keith Richards article the Mail
*
I know Geoff admires Keith Richards-smile
In other news I happened to come upon a great lil article written by Geoff Baker and friend
(I don't know the other guy) from the Mail.co.uk about Keith Richards, who is about to...GET THIS- release an OL classic easy listening....album? huh...Say what?!
a snippet here from Geoff's article:
*
the man who famously declared ‘rehab is for quitters’ –(lmao) looks set to do the one thing no one ever expected: release an easy-listening album.

Remarkably, it could include a polished jazz version of the Judy Garland classic Somewhere Over The Rainbow from The Wizard Of Oz and a tear-jerking homage to country star Tammy Wynette in the song Apartment No 9.
More than 20 never-released covers by the Rolling Stones guitarist have been leaked on the Internet and are proving a huge hit with the few fans in the know.

( where is that link Geoff? I'd love to hear a snippet) I left a comment but of course the 'Mail" didn't post it, sheeesh. Wanna read more about K. Richards Geoff's article? see here

Phill Collins to never work with Paul McCartney

Phill Collins to never work with Paul McCartney

If you haven't read on the net by now, Phill Collins refuses to ever work with Paul McCartney again, why? he doesn't like the direction Paul's music is going in. Huh?

"McCartney's current 'musical direction' does not match his own high standards."

When is the last time Phill Collins made any music, that was "Note" worthy, Can you say Genesis? Do we really give a shit? No. What high standards does Collins hold?

I suspect Mr. Collins is a lil green with envy, because Macca is all over the media,

Phill is not. What, with Paul's latest 2 albums & DVD releases:

Ecce Cor Meum, Memory Almost Full & The McCartney Years. Not to mention the secret gigs in London, Paris, & New York. The Electric Proms event in London and the smart lil commercial for ITUNES who wouldn't be a lil envious of Macca? Paul's over the map.

note: Phill, if you want publicity, I suggest you try another way, say like writing a new album that is "Note" worthy, rather than slamming Paul McCartney.
Carry On Paul, Carry on!

Paul McCartney plays party show in London

Paul McCartney plays 'party' show in London

Beatles legend also pays tribute to former crew member
05.Jul.07 11:48pm
Paul McCartney continued the iTunes Festival season tonight (July 5) with a hit laden set made up of Beatles and Wings classics. The legendary singer performed a moving show before a small crowd of 300 people at the ICA in London.Bounding onstage, the former Beatle was greeted with massive cheers when he shouted: "Good evening. Alright?" before launching into 1980 hit 'Coming Up'.Like his recent shows, McCartney, who was dressed casually in a white and black sweater, ran through five tracks off his latest solo album 'Memory Almost Full' before treating the crowd to the likes of Beatles classics 'Hey Jude' and 'Get Back' along with Wings hit 'Jet'.McCartney was on jovial form throughout the gig, engaging in plenty of banter with the crowd as he constantly referred to the show as a "party".Leading into The Beatles track 'Blackbird' he joked: "It is like a party you can get a conversation going.

I watched that film 'Munich' by Steven Spielberg last night. It was pretty good." As
previously reported on NME.COM, the singer became emotional during his recent LA show at Amoeba Records when a member of the audience shed tears during the song 'Here Today' which McCartney penned as a tribute to John Lennon in 1982.Referring to the performance, he told the crowd tonight: "We just did a gig in a record shop in LA and I was singing that song and I was just about holding it together emotionally and then I saw this woman weeping and I just lost it man."

Long & Winding Road

As ever the highlight of the gig, was The Beatles classic 'Hey Jude' which sparked a mass sing-a-long amongst the arm waving audience.Conducting the song's catchy refrain McCartney invited both the "boys" and "girls" in the crowd to sing along before he shouted: "Now everyone all together."Rounding off the show, the former Beatle dedicated 'Let It Be' to a long term monitor engineer who recently died before adding: "This next song I want to dedicate to a crew member John Roden, who just passed away last week. This is for you Johnny."He wrapped up the gig with
