Hey people several months ago, let's say 6 or so I was listening to Beatle vids on Youtube. I ran across a few vids from someone named, Steve Riks. I first heard him do, a Paul McCartney song. Than a John Lennon song. I didn't realize he was one in the same person?! His voice is amazing. He covers so many artists. He covers all the Beatle's individually.

I than watched some parodies of Ringo, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Freddie Mercury, Barry Gibb, Neil Young, all done by Steve. The jeff Lynne spot, I will post during the holidays. It is hillarious. Dig, the British humor. I laughed my ass off. His mannerisms of Macca & others are spot on.

To top it off, Steve. is from Liverpool. Fast forward to September 09 last weekend while watching Steve's vids-I read: "Steve had been banned from Youtube" What a bunch of crap. Say what ~ Banned?! They're not serious are they? Get a grip Youtube!

Millions of people remake songs, cover songs, cover bands etc. WTF? this guy is a genius. A comedian, impressionist, vocalist-you name it. His vocal range is amazing. Youtube needs to allow Steve to come back. This is bogus, stating copy right violations? Better Ban half the videos & people on youtube than, Youtube.
I spent hours last week watching Steve's vids I would be flattered if I was the artist being parodied. I laughed, watched and listened to them over and over. This guy is the real deal :) I love him!

Still reeling off The charity gig in New York,wow!

Hey people. Here it is one week later since attending the charity gig in New York. I am, still, thinking about it, with huge smiles on my face. Anyone reading this there also? It was just amazing!! I hope there will be a dvd for purchase in the future- since it was filmed. I am so happy to have seen, Paul & Ringo, perform together, such a joy, joy a joy joy! :)

work that week
It was rather difficult to work tues.- thurs. from lack of sleep. I barely managed, somehow I did. I must have talked about it, all day, at work, the last several days..I had asked my manager if I could get off work early on thurs. I was trippin on my own two feet. So, what happens when I get home, ready to crash out ?

The cops~
a huge, freakin neon orange sticker on the drivers side of my El Camino-peeled off and pasted
on the window. Dangit, are they freakin serious? a cop stated he was gonna tow my car it stated on the sticker. The tires were marked with white chalk all over them. whew, there goes any bit of sleep. Hum, did this cop even bother to check that my vehicle was registered?

I laughed to myself, for the fact that I have had 2 other major vehicle problems in the last month and a half. It took a good 15 mins to get that unslightly sticker off the window. so I took the car for a spin to the car wash, called the police depart. and left a detailed message, I believed, I was being harrassed. The car isn't abandoned? dangit the end of my message said.. I have two vehicles, My other car is a BMW .. it's funny how the murphy's of law happen at any given notice. :)

I wonder if Paul, or any of the Beatle's, had problems with coppers and their rides? lmao picture that!!

Some Beatles fans are feeling down about the latest use of a Fab Four song in a commercial — the 1967 peace anthem “All You Need Is Love” highlights a new disposable diaper campaign. “I just cannot see a Beatles song being used for trivial things ... not Beatles songs!!!!” fan Andy Bonnell said by e-mail from Liverpool, England, the Beatles’ home base.

Such sentiments represent something of a lost cause. A version of their song “Help!” was used in a car commercial in 1985, and the many appearances since then include the late John Lennon’s son Julian’s 2002 cover of “When I’m Sixty-Four” for insurer Allstate Corp. and current Target Corp. store commercials that use a version of “Hello Goodbye” — “Goodbuy” in the ads.

But the “All You Need...” campaign, launched this month for Procter & Gamble Co.’s Luvs diapers, struck a particularly sour note for some fans, who heated up online forums about it. Among the objections is that the idealistic song, popular in the counterculture
“Summer of Love” era and among Vietnam War opponents, is being used at the time of another war, in Iraq, to evoke soiled diapers. “For people who feel that political connection, it comes off as kind of a callous action,” said Angela Natividad, coeditor of adrants.com, a marketing commentary site.

“You’ve got the Beatles, which draws like, religious feelings, and you’ve got the war.” The commercial’s tag line irritates some, too: “ ‘All you need is Luvs?’ pleeeeease,” wrote “Instant Karla” on the beatle-links.net’s “fab forum” discussion group. see more here

C'mon NO, its really fab too see Beatles songs featured in commercials but not this, not a song that represents Peace & Love a Beatles anti war anthem. Man this SUX and not well. Can you say boycott? Hum, I wonder what Paul McCartney & Ringo will have to say about this? What a stinky shame this is NOT a cute idea at all and should be pulled immediately, just my two cents worth of course.
