OUT THERE- NEW YORK, EUROPE!
Hey everybody, just got back from New York this past week...I was in Brooklyn "YO" to see Paul McCartney the 1st of my stops this tour -'Out There' I Love New York and the people of Brooklyn, very friendly. I stayed off Dean street in a quaint lil brownstone. I had visions of -Welcome Back Kotter as I sat on the stoop.. Coming from California, it was beautiful weather..When I arrived in New York, it was pouring rain not just any type of rain, buckets of rain.. unfortunately, I did not bring any pants only shorts~ haha..Early morning Saturday the sun decided to peak its lovely head.. as I was talking to a lovely Brooklyn woman, loud music, began to play at the corner church.. I'm sure you could hear this music half a mile away - I sat there in the sun listening to the music thinking, in just a few hours from now I'll be seeing Paul McCartney--How cool is that ?

We got ready and went to Barclay's Center for Sound Check on Saturday...it was joyous as always .. Paul, played 'Birthday' to my surprise and a quaint lil song by George Fromby..the name escapes me.. Macca & The band were really into it ..They all seemed really happy.. I love when Paul is happy and when he is really into the music . this sound Check, in my opinion, was the best ever .. really...I really enjoyed "Every-night" & Bluebird' a great great sound check .. Thank You, Macca .. after sound check we went in for some eats.. show was to start in 40 minutes so we rushed to our seats. I was 3rd row center a great seat.. however, the main stage was quite far away than in normally is..with that sub platform.. Paul was too far away to be engaging with the crowd as he normally is.. Something just didn't seem right that 1st night .. Paul seemed like he was on auto-piolt and not there as if something was disturbing him? ..
So How Was The GIG- huh?
Paul stepped out onto the stage opening with "Eight Days A week" he looked 'hella cool' in that long black coat his hair was rockin!- ( as I screamed out at sound check- I like your hair Paul! ) Paul's looking pretty good these days..NICE
I'm sorry, but those front rows were a bunch of duds in my opinion.. some were having a good time . Perhaps some were in shock of seeing "Sir Paul" C'mon people! y you're seeing Paul McCartney, enjoy yourselves.. Its OK to let loose and have fun ...LIVE! and for some reason, I felt, that Paul could sense the crowd not knowing what to do? .. don't know - strange vibe. It's a rock concert! enjoy it! .. a living legend! I really loved the new additions to the set list "Listen to What The Man Said" which needed horns - 'Your Mother Should Know' ( are you freaking kidding Me?! ) YES!!, 'Another Day' ( WOW!) Lovely Rita" HI HI HI Right On Paul! a fresh set list- you done good!! Some of these songs I never thought I'd hear Paul play ..evah eavh~
I always loved to hear Paperback Writer- I LOVE THAT SONG- and when they jam- out- in 'The Zone" "Oh Yeah"
Paul read one sign in the audience - something about "Please sign my Wife" haha. Paul, mentioned 'I'm not going to sign your wife do you want me to get into trouble?' and mentioned loosing his career something or other it was funny.. Paul got on that dang platform for 2 songs only 'Here Today' & 'Blackbird' he was close to the first few rows for a few seconds.. as he rose higher & higher --As he played Blackbird -- lights on the platform showed a living silhouette of a bird & it's wings- that was beautiful... I still do not like the platform . ha~

Monday at Barclay's You'd thought the Beatles were on stage!
Wow! a complete change in the crowd Monday- and Paul and the band new it- felt it- The air was electric- maybe Jimi's spirit was there.. They fucking rocked the HOUUSEE!~
( I'll have to finish this up at a later date cos me- McCartney ( that would be me ) is leaving for Europe in the AM to catch Paul first stop in Warsaw, poland.. fucking excited ..alright?! Yep got lots of pics will post them also on a later date
PS. MPL.. Please please with a capital P ditch that sub-stage-- we like being up close & personal with Paul McCartney doesn't he love US anymore ? hahahaha see you soon people! I'm OUT x

Maybe I'm Amazed-Contest, Rock The Vote!

Hey people - how are you this fine day? Paul McCartney's been very, very, busy touring South America - with his Up & Coming Tour..with Rockin gigs &; wild fans- with Love in their hearts & music in their souls.. I'm almost green not being able to attend the frenzied madness those fans gave in South America to Paul & his band.
Last year, Paul McCartney, reissued his triple platinum album- Band on the Run offering a First ever competition on YouTube for musicians, singers, & lovers of music- which included a prize of the deluxe album Band on The Run for it's winner.
Macca's offering this competition/ cover contest once again with his re issues of McCartney 1 & McCartney 11 out now! Entrants to make vids covering of one of Paul McCartney's most treasured and well known love songs "Maybe I'm Amazed"
Lots of goodies included in this contest people.. So, if you'd like your chance to vote or make a video of your own version of Maybe I'm Amazed see details below... To vote for entrants you MUST go to You Tube & thumbs up for your video for your vote to count.. Note: I would have entered the competition however, the lyrics are far to high for my vocal capabilities.. ha!

I've never been so lucky in my whole life to have found someone like him, I thank my parents for that particular matter every day. See her video below. :)

Lisa Marie Glive..30 Residence: Montreal, Canada I've been singing professionally since the age of 8, when I started in a volunteer entertainment group that traveled across Montreal to various hospitals and senior citizens' homes. Prior to that, I was raised in a house where playing rock 'n' roll records was a constant. My parents were baby boomers and my siblings were nearly two decades older than me, which refined the music I was exposed to.
I think Paul McCartney may have been some of the first words I ever uttered. I developed a strong preference for The Beatles, particularly McCartney at the tender age of 3, and remember owning Pipe Of Peace on 45 vinyl and playing it endlessly, which drove my parents batty. I spent my days drowning myself in his music, and slowly began to replace regular speech with singing. I still have cassette tapes I recoded from as young as 5 years old on which I spent the day singing and talking about my hero.
I never let go of that passion, and it keeps me singing to this day. Why The Beatles? Why Paul? Because they resonate love and all things positive in a world shadowed by too much hatred and negative energy. From a young age, I favored beautiful melodies, and Paul was the Mozart of the 20th century in terms of melody.
Following the huge success of last year’s Band on the Run competition, we are very excited to offer fans another chance to win a host of Macca goodies with the brand new ‘Maybe I’m Amazed Cover’s Competition’ in celebration of the upcoming release of McCartney & McCartney II on June 13th/14th.

When Jen Met Macca & Toronto

Hey people, remember last summer when I wrote about an amazing trip to Toronto and never finished it?.. I suppose now is a good time as any to finish said post.. link is here - ( for those who need refreshing ) titled: I'm on my way to Toronto a Paul McCartney adventure.. I left off at:
That first night in Toronto as Jen and I were in the second row center- we were sweating bullets.. having the time of our lives.. It was hard to get to sleep that night as I was posting on my blog and at McCartney.com.. Very bright and very early, the next morning after what seemed like 4 hours sleep a very loud siren or alarm went off .. It was the fucking fire alarm.. shit, down 20 flights of stairs on a jacked up knee.. damn that pissed me off.. ( What will happen next? ) after the clear signal no fucking fire.. I thought I'd take a nap.. for tonight's gig with Paul McCartney again.. Yeah!
The phone rings and hour later.. It's Jen - we talked about what we would do if were were going to meet Paul McCartney, that day.. Jen had a huge feeling that day she would meet Paul for some odd reason, as today, she was going to the Sound check before the gig.. and what was to happen - became a reality for Ms. Dodge as she held up her sign at the sound check.. Jen had thought Paul had forgotten as Paul,. read the sign and told her to save her arm strength..Well you know -I was a complete mess when she walked up to me and should me ..her....
The only PETA Thing I had was a Meet Free Monday's tee & a piccie- I wondered around the venue looking for Jen... not knowing Paul McCartney signed her arm!
Shoot -I can't even wear the Meat Free Mondays tee at work ( I did twice ) scroll down for more on this adventure....
Wow! Just fucking wow!! Now, I have known people who have had their parts signed by Paul McCartney, himself.. but this is special to me - for the fact Jen is a dear friend.. and a great fan.. I think this would be the highlight for any Beatles or McCartney fan to have a siggy graph from a living legend who happens to be Paul McCartney: ( I know it would be for me ) I'm personally still in awe of this fotograph- Damn, this rocks so much.. I wish it had been me.. Happy that it happened for you Jen... hugs!! xx Diggin the MPL logo on the trunk - too cool :)
But Paul! We LOVE bringing our signs.. We hope you don't mind.. Danica don't feel bad doll.. Paul has past up many signs I have brought to gigs..I know how you feel... I met the coolest cat named Keith Correa at second nights gig a HUGE promoter in Toronto. The Original Kid Rock - as his business card states ..
As always Paul McCartney and his band put on a brilliant show!! Mull of Kyntire was insane! that was well worth it for the flight coming from California.. mishaps and all -and the camera dying of course.. hahaha~ nothing as priceless than seeing Paul McCartney - live - truly..
Girl, left who was sitting next to me that second night.. The Canadians are some of the greatest people out of all the gigs I have attended.. The best gigs are by far - have been the most memorable for me..( Some greats in the states..) by out side the states - pure magic!..
Ha- as always we never want the gig to end.. piccie right of some musicians playing Beatles & AC/DC tunes after the gig.. I had to capture the moment.. me, walking back to the hotel.. Hey Where's my cab?!!!
The following day- I had an early flight to catch.Getting outta Toronto was horrible..Once on the plane my thoughts wondered over the last few days spent in Toronto..

tears began to trickle down my face - I didn't want to admit it- as I thought Fuck! Paul, I want to meet you too! so many people I know have met Macca- not me..a little luck hasn't happened to me yet.. ooohhh sigh, as my eyes closed for take off on the way back to the states- the music of the past two nights filled my head.. waiting, for my next Paul McCartney adventure.. :)

I am happy for her.. I wish it was me.. but Jen deserves it!~..I swear, I didn't cry when she walked up to me tonight- me in the 14th row on the isle.. OK, so I'm watching American Idol.. Than it's James - ( The Rocker ) turn to pick a song from his favorite artist whom he admires - Loves.. And who does he pick? Paul McCartney..That's right What the? Dude are you serious?!! What Macca song is he going to sing?.. Maybe I'm Amazed.. Ok, the kids got 'The Rocker' Voice. Last week he did a Judas Priest - hit.. nailed it . How will he do with Maybe I'm Amazed?
Damn dude, that was freaking great. It Rocked! Like Randy said you "slayed it" My only critique would be; you didn't get to sing the song in it's entirety! I Loved how you hit them high notes with that rocker edge..brought down with the Ooohhh Oohhh Yeah.. in tune on time - perfect. That was HOT! I think Macca would have loved that.. Keep on Keepin on.. Note: Miema, Girl that was Bad! I dug that.....
I'm also Loving Casey Abrams. Dude you rawk hard! Let it Loose Casey -I know you can..
Loving Steven Tyler.. Fuck Man - you Rawk and keep it real.. Steven's fun gotta Love him..and his linguistics...I dig that! Jennifer Lopez .. sweet.. like her.. and Randy Jackson? We LOVE The Dawg!

( really miss him )...let them sing the songs in there entirety -not snippets less commercials. Also, The judges are pretty generous with their compliments.. Some of the songs soundes like crap, really - being honest .... the rest of tonight's show? ZZZZZZZZZZZ's

Today would have been John Lennon's 70th
.
You know, I have mixed feelings about this day October 9th.. A great musical genius was born today; could he ever really envision the millions of lives he has touched through his music- did he ever really know how many lives he affected for the good? did he know of his greatness~

I wonder what John Lennon would look like today.. would he have that Jesus vibe going on - long white silvery hairy and a scruffy beard? or would he be clean cut & mellow? Do I really think Lennon would really give a fuck, if it was his 70th and all these celebrations? me thinks, no. For some reason I could hear him say.. I'm just a person people, who made it really big.. I'm no different than you. Why are we still talking about war, why are we still in this war after 10 years? there is peace if you want it.. I guess you don't want it?!
It really struck me, how, Julian Lennon, recently posted, on his Facebook page; He 'thought it rather strange to celebrate someones birthday, when they are no longer here with us'.. I'd have to agree in some ways.. I'd like to think we could celebrate his memory, not a birthday celebration...

I do think it rather touching, Google, dedicated a Google doodle in John Lennon's honor .. very touching- it kinda moved me to tears.. Thank you Google from a huge Beatles fan!
John Lennon's message was about Peace & love in the world- haven't we learned this yet? obviously not.. If we could take the time to be kind to one another and help our fellow man this world would be a better place.. not just for one day - everyday..Thoughts through rose colored glasses.. sermon over..

as millions celebrate thru-out the world this weekend.. Me, I'll be listening to Lennon and Beatles music .. trying not to be 'too sad' cos he was taken from his family, Julian, Sean and his fans ..far to early and to be honest that - that, really pisses me off!
I think of Julian Lennon on this day and my heart and thoughts are with him as he unveils a John Lennon statue in Liverpool.. I wish Julian tremendous happiness~ and a lovely day for him and his mum... to be full of Love & laughter~ miles of smiles! :)
I remember a great man named John Lennon on what would have been his 70th birthday..today Let me, not forget his message, of LOVE... his creative genius, his humor, his witt. The music! what a 'Great Beatle' he was! what a legend!.....It's hard not to be sad.. and have mixed feelings ..I had a few tears yesterday.. I'll try, really hard~not to get misty.. 'The fans made the band and they have continued to make the band through five decades - but I feel their crucial side of the story that Derek called 'the 20th century's greatest romance' has never been told properly before. I'm reasonably qualified to write this book and it is the only Beatles book that I shall ever write.'
'I've always been fascinated by the fans. I did three world tours with Paul McCartney and on each one it was the dancing fans with their cheeky banners, friendly faces and expert knowledge who made each show a smash.
I have no interest in the posh people who buy the expensive seats and then just sit in them throughout the gig.

with a little help from their friends
Geoff Baker, former PR to Linda and Paul McCartney and The Beatles, is to write a history of Beatles fans - using the fans' own words and calling it The Beatles Fanthology.

Baker, who worked at Apple Corps as press assistant under Derek Taylor on the actual Beatles Anthology projects, is asking Beatles fans around the globe to send him their stories, memories and moments about their love for the world's most-enduring rock band.
Baker will edit anecdotes and observations from the fans into the first full and illustrated biography of The Beatles fan phenomenon.
'I have a lot of respect for them, there is absolutely nothing like a Beatles fan and I love 'em,' said Baker, who worked for 15 years as Paul McCartney's publicity chief.
'The fans made the band and they have continued to make the band through five decades - but I feel their crucial side of the story that Derek called 'the 20th century's greatest romance' has never been told properly before. I'm reasonably qualified to write this book and it is the only Beatles book that I shall ever write.'
Baker said he was spurred to do the book after attending the Beatles Week festival in Liverpool and after a Beatles fan wrote to him and suggested that he did it.

I want to know what the fans think about The Beatles, not the biographers' opinion or the critics', the fans. Other than forever admiring their screaming, we've not paid enough attention to their voice.'

Baker is asking fans who want to put their voice in the book to tell him their stories - by email to geoffbaker@beatlesfanthology.com

'I want to cover the whole Beatles period, from the beginning of the birth of the band in 1957 up to the current day. The fans can send me as much or as little as they like. Email me pix or anything they want, but don't send me originals because everybody knows I'll lose them,' said Baker.
'I'm looking for those little moments that may be personal to one but will be understood by us all. I want to get in as many voices as possible from as many places as possible.'

Although Baker has been kicking fan-related book ideas around in himself for years, it was his business partner Jill Newton who came up with the name The Beatles Fanthology after the fan's prompt. The pair, both former journalists, recently formed a books-writing partnership, Newton & Baker Books. The Fanthology will be their fourth book currently in production.

( I chose the Deluxe version myself..) you can also order tee's and other goodies from his site!
( it's gonna get better! :) Sing along to this happy little song.. Than back to the Beatle's influence at the end.. exquisite guitars, and changes. Great drums. This song is for you- music cheers the soul.. well written, brilliant, song ..I do love this "Very Happy Song" miles of smiles..:)
"Miranda" another uplifting song. the 1st verse lovely. ( OK, I'm a chick I can say Lovely) A guy, who has lost a girl and perhaps he has made a mistake and wants here back; in his mind's eye he thinks of her often, and what could be again?.. the chorus of
"Hey Hey Hey- Hey Miranda" ( better days are just around the bend) is pretty infectious.. loud guitars in the middle, than end with a guitar slide and stroke of a piano key- that's it folks ..lol
"Camouflage" show me the real you.. put down the make- up & everything you think is you lol.. the lead up to the bridge with drums, guitars, & vocals, so smooth.. The bridge is totally off the hook! very catchy
"We are everything that we could ever be - we got everything that we ever will need..- we don't need-Camouflage" drums guitars, vocals all as one-wow~ dig it! smart lyrics some great lines in Camouflage. You're are gonna love this one...I do..
and The titled track "This Way Up" huge rockin guitars- reminds me of The Ramone's in parts~ It's hard to describe, This Way up other than - IT"S HUGE" you'll see after a few play thrus...can't wait to get 'This Way Up" in my hands..( more later)

I'm digging on initial listen/run- thru- "Very Happy Song"- a happy, uplifting lil ditty to listen too, indeed- the opening remenicent of the Beatle's ala 1967 meloncholy, catchy lyrics, it seems Brian speaks to us about today's happenings in our world-and he gets it, knows it, as if to say- cheer up people, don't give up( it's gonna get better! :) Sing along to this happy little song.. Paul McCartney to Rock the White House!

Our Macca to Rock the White House, this Wednesday June 2nd. Paul to receive The Gershwin prize for Popular Song from The Library of Congress.The Highest musical honor--wow!.
Paul is the 3rd recipient to receive such an esteemed honor. past honoree's, Paul Simon & Stevie Wonder. Paul recently announced on an online chat, he would be playing the White House..'You heard it here first' he said.-Miles of Smiles coming from Paul. Paul fans already knew Paul, would be playing for the President back in March we just didn't know when-ha! I bet the guys in the band are in awe..We're playing The what -?!!
I wonder what the set list will consist of? 'Sing The Changes' for sure 'Michelle'. ( Paul had commented in the past he wanted to sing 'Michelle', for -The First Lady ) Will the First lady blush. Will this be a subdued show or a rocker? ( I'm hoping for a Rawker! ) Some 'Helter Skelter', 'I've got a feeling', 'Paper Back Writer', '1985' perhaps? Oh Yeah!
Will President Obama Change his Tune to whom he prefers Beatle's or Stones? :)
I feel an SNL skit commin out of of this` lol
The concert will be broadcast on PBS stations nationwide on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 8:00 PM EDT (check local listings) pencil your calenders! as “In Performance at the White House Celebrating the Music of Paul McCartney: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize.”

I am so honored to have this opportunity to play with Paul for the President and
his wife, as well as most members of the US Senate. Paul is being honored and

First off- WTF!!!

It makes perfect sense now, doesn't it? you can charge whomever, whatever you feel like charging for the use of it's studios~ not like you don't have enuff monies already, Paul...or lack of $... But, just in case, you want to secure your future and the future of all em other McCartney's - I say, Go for it Macca!
I think it a brilliant idea. Id like to personally tour the studio myself..

Owen:There are many rumours circulating around the origin of the name...but the honest answer is....
we new we needed a name...so we just came up with a list of different names, then it was a case of seeing which we could use and register and Purple Melon IT WAS! this may or may not be the actual reason tho:P:P but its the less crude version

Owen: the band has been together just over 3yrs, but the current and what we'd call the definitive line-up..have been together 18months

I guess there was a recent 80s come back...I wouldn't be surprised if there is a total 60s 70s come back so many great bands from that era, it would be great, especially if it helps push our music out to more people so...we are doing our best to make that come back happen!

pm: we actually started making the album back in 08. in the UK and it was finally complete around May 09.
we worked long and hard with Paul Stacey in the studio, and made a record we are all
very proud of Paul is a truely awesome musician and producer...we learned so much in the time we spent making the record (Paul was guitarist in the Black Crowes, and produced their last two records)

we recorded at Rockfield studios in Wales, where Queen recorded Bohemian Rhapsody, and many other classic records were made there. We did it the old fashioned way as well..we recorded to tape

pm ha! I've no idea but i know we spent a long time in the studio and Paul worked us all VERY hard.

pm The Album is most likely going to be called Henry's Rocket which is a song from the album
hb How has the bands popularity increased since moving to the states which venues have you played?
pm: when we moved here we knew very few people...just a few myspace friends we started out playing smaller clubs, first band on, playing to hardly anyone but we just stated going out , meeting people, we found anyone we convinced to come see us once...always came back, and even better, they brought new people with themso now we have a really good crowd , and healthy following here..its amazing how quickly its grown the word has really spread. So we play The Viper Room, The Key Club, The Mint, Knitting Factory

pm tricky..just being able to play so many different venues and learning the value of loyal fans and friends they have really helped us settle in and get things happening here LA is just a base , we plan to try and have Fans all over the US...then the World! but the people that helped us start out here are invaluable to us.

pm we took it down because it was the demo version the album version is yet to come

Owen:There are many rumours circulating around the origin of the name...but the honest answer is....
we new we needed a name...so we just came up with a list of different names, then it was a case of seeing which we could use and register and Purple Melon IT WAS! this may or may not be the actual reason tho:P:P but its the less crude version

Owen: it seems a lot more people like the name Purple Melon over here in the U.S.Well...he does have unusual coloured genitalia...but its just a myth that its linked to the name

So, how long has the band been together and I understand you recently moved to California from England?...
Owen: the band has been together just over 3yrs, but the current and what we'd call the definitive line-up..have been together 18months

Hey people several months ago, let's say 6 or so I was listening to Beatle vids on Youtube. I ran across a few vids from someone named, Steve Riks. I first heard him do, a Paul McCartney song. Than a John Lennon song. I didn't realize he was one in the same person?! His voice is amazing. He covers so many artists. He covers all the Beatle's individually.
I than watched some parodies of Ringo, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Freddie Mercury, Barry Gibb, Neil Young, all done by Steve. The jeff Lynne spot, I will post during the holidays. It is hillarious. Dig, the British humor. I laughed my ass off. His mannerisms of Macca & others are spot on.
To top it off, Steve. is from Liverpool. Fast forward to September 09 last weekend while watching Steve's vids-I read: "Steve had been banned from Youtube" What a bunch of crap. Say what ~ Banned?! They're not serious are they? Get a grip Youtube!
Millions of people remake songs, cover songs, cover bands etc. WTF? this guy is a genius. A comedian, impressionist, vocalist-you name it. His vocal range is amazing. Youtube needs to allow Steve to come back. This is bogus, stating copy right violations? Better Ban half the videos & people on youtube than, Youtube.
I spent hours last week watching Steve's vids I would be flattered if I was the artist being parodied. I laughed, watched and listened to them over and over. This guy is the real deal :) I love him!

Hello people, it's friday- late night and I'm still trying to re collect my thoughts of Macca & The band at The Dallas Cowboy's Stadium-whew! It might take me a day or two, too complete the actual post. It's going to be a long one so please stay tuned!! It was a great experience! (hope the pics came out)
Dallas airport ha!
I arrived at DFW around 10:05 pm Tuesday night waiting on friends to pick me up outside .. My mom called.. So we talked a lil bit about the Beatles. I said Mom you don't understand?! Paul< The music & God are the only ones that have been with me- all my life.. Oh, I don't understand says my mom. I do understand!
Lemme tell you, when you were a toddler, your father was learning how to play acoustic guitar- and all he would ever play was 'Hey Jude' Over & over and over & over..
Well did he play it well?..................Eventually!....... he did...., says my mom..
I hate, 'Hey Jude' she said. He would play it non stop all the time! He than, learned to play other Beatles songs and got rather good at it!~ So, It's been ingrained in you since you began to walk, The Beatles music that is..
I just want to thank Paul for being with me all my life, I tell her.. God & The music have been there for you- not Paul, she said. I do understand, why, you love the music so much and it started with your father & Hey Jude. Geez~ mom.
An hour & 20 mins later, my friends, picked me up ..as I stood outside the airport it was hot & breezy... Yeah! so here is Nellie & Mike to pick me up at the airport. I had worked part of the day my flight was delayed so they put me on an AA flight I arrived an hour earlier.. It was about 2am when we went to bed.. Up at 8:30am 6 1/2 hes sleep!
We gotta see Rusty at Guitar Center!
So we get ready to meet Rusty, than to the airport to pick up Miguel who flew in from Mexico, than back to the Cowboy's Stadium- So off we went, to The guitar Center, to meet Rusty Anderson buy his Cd etc.. We made a quick stop at the store to get a belt.. my shorts were too big!! lol than off we were..

When we got there, Rusty, was taking a few more pics.. than he picks up a box to leave.
I said Rusty, Dude, you can't leave yet. We just got here! It's me the one with the black hat! I showed him the black Macca hat. He smiled and asked me my name.. I was gonna tell him harleyblues, I told him my name.
I couldn't get over, how tall, Rusty was- with very blue eyes. Finally, after all these years it was cool to meet Rusty. He is a brilliant guitar player. He said he had to leave. I told him it was early it was 1:45 pm he turns to leave and says
Got $10 bucks? Yes, got change for a $20 we pull out dollars .. I tell Rusty see you at the Sound Check. Oh, that pesky sound check Rusty said.. lol he hands me his new Cd unsigned.
I feel silly to ask any of the band for a siggygraph :)
See you at the gig he says with a nice smile & tap of the shoulder. He was out the door.. Nellie, didn't get a chsance to meet Rusty, still fumbling with her camera- all the while asking Nellie if she has gotten a piccie of Rusty? Rusty gets into his car when a blond women name Sherry runs up to his car and hands him a Boquet of flowers. As I looked on I give Rusty, a peace sign, and I'm guessing he threw one back as the windows were tinted... I saw a hand gesture of some type LOL~
Than it was a mad dash to DFW airport!
so I now have my camera being charged cuz It died during the gig.. so its gonna be hours beofore I'm able to download piccies- Ok, I know! :)
We went to pick up Miguel, who had flown into Dallas from Mexico. It was his FIRST EVER MCCARTNEY GIG How cool is that?! We were in a hurry, since I had to be at the Sound Check by 3:45pm.
First stop was Best Buy, as I wasn't sure what camera to buy. I had got piccies at The David Lynch charity gig with my Blackberry. didn't have my Blackberry in Las Vegas t- when Paul was at the Joint. Didn't have a camera , or my blackberry the first night of Citi Field, NY Had it the 2nd night.. took some cool pics. However, as you know, my Blackberry was stolen. I was determined to have a camera for Dallas. so I got me a Nikon 5 "Z point & shoot. My first digital camera. I was worried how pics would come out.
We got to the Cowboys Stadium with a quickness and the Hospitality people & Security wouldn't LET US IN!
They said I needed a blue pass- well it's kinda ironic when we were on our way to the stadium Fed Ex called and said they had my package.. you know the laminent & the Souvenir.. Sorry, I can't pick it up I'm in Texas, on the way to the Cowboys stadium! Thank Goodness they finally let us in the parking lot since I had printed out the instructions for the VIP Sound Check- We waited another half hour than inside we went~ woohooo
The Sound Check & Talkin to Macca-Well Sorta? ha!
But of course most of my piccies didn't come out!!
Ok here is the short version of what happened at the sound check......
Ms. Shelly, as I found out her name to be, ( she works for Paul) leads us into the stadium talkin about the huge video screens and how beautiful the stadium was... She was fun, gracious & down to earth :)
we were let inside.. were were like 10 15 feet or so in front of the sound board... so it takes awhile for Paul to come out....
Shelly said, get up sing dance take piccie's it's OK today!!~
So there is "Scotty" Brian and he gives me a warm welcome and a small kiss on the cheek ..' this ones trouble' he laughed, with his lovely accent.. he is so nice to the fans..
Rusty, Abe, Brian and Wix were on stage.. finally, after what seemed like half an hour here comes Paul.. white shirt electric blue cool jacket light pants
birkenstocks. (sp).. and black glasses comes out we all cheered.. don't ask me what he played at the sound check??
Paul, said he was inquiring again.. about the sign. .at times it was hard to hear what Paul was actually saying?.. you caught bits and pieces..

Liverpool 03 whats the name of it Liz? he was talkin to the sound guys, welcomed us.. and read the list were we were all from..Me from California.
so I began takin snaps.. and singing and dancing around.. some had signs and I held mine p.. he said I can't read the sign.. he held up his hands like they were a pair of binoculars.... tryin to see I didn't think he was talking to me..Cos I thought the sign was big enuff?
(I put on the Macca Hat ) Paul said he couldn't read- our signs again- since we were far away)_..
I didn't know what he was saying.part of the time.. as he and the band were laughing hard on stage.. I was saying "Rock it out Paul!" Of course, I was being very silly. F man, this is Paul McCartney!..Have fun! Paul brings allot of Happiness & Joy to the Heart & Spirit..

Sept 1 I got a min. to post a few lines..
Paul, had noticed fans peakin their heads into the stadium from the concourse sec. hanging onto the fence and cheering for Paul as they looked on. Paul got a kick out of it...said something to the fact- I didn't notice you over there?

When the sound check was over we were lead off to a private area. with cool pendant lights hanging around the bar area, tables scattered here & there to sit down for some eats.
.
The dinner was veggie and yes, it was good. One of the waitresse's kept stealing our plates. dangit, we hadn't finished our meals- she took my plate with them lil hand sized desserts on it- sheeesh.
As I sat there, I could see the band the Script playing. It was cool in a way to sit there to eat and drink. looking out the window, onto the floor..before I knew it I had to get out to my seat. Tthe Script was about to finish their set. The Script was quite good!------

Right away Paul and Brian had noticed me and how can they not, with my Macca hat.. heheheh I held up my sign and Paul kinda mouthed the words. I'll read it later...smiling.. awww that was nice.

Security not the greatest again
I was in the 5th row near the isle.. pretty close. Talked to some people I knew and asked security if we could move up front once the gig started. He said it would be fine..
I stood their talkin to people. and was aksed to go to my seat, but of course, I told him they security in the pit said it was OK for me to stand there.
Dallas security gave me a bunch of crap I wasn't doing a thing. I don't appreciate being talked to in a rude manner.
Paul and the band were to come out any minute..Out they come doing the same set as in past gigs...

I suddenly made a dash for it into the front row. a bunch of people had ran up. No one was being disorderly I took a couple pics & sang N danced. I get a tap on my shoulder. May I see your ticket please? Sure I gave security my ticket. he says come now lets go back our seats. I told him security .....told us it was ok?
He said something. I couldn't understand. as I took me seat. a security in a black shirt in the pit stopped Dallas security and said.:
"Oh kick her out as she's been trouble all day for security. Throw her out for all I care. Call Dallas Police!" WTF?
What are you talkin about I told him? I wasn;t there all day. I had the VIP ticket! WTF?!! I told dallass security I wasn't doing a thing. He smiled and said- just stay in your seat. OK-wow~.
That bald headed guy kept looking at me the entire gig what a fuckin jerk.. Some of the people sitting directly in front of Paul and the band were rather sedate. Things didn't really start jumpin until bout half way thru the gig.

Right away Paul and Brian had noticed me and how can they not, with my Macca hat.. heheheh I held up my sign and Paul kinda mouthed the words. I'll read it later...smiling.. awww that was nice.One of highlights of the gig were Yesterday- Paul almost began to cry. It was a first from what I can recall.. It really moved me I kinda got misty too..
Was Paul recalling his life. the memories of Yesterday? Was he missing Linda, John, George?
It doesn't matter how many times you attend a McCartney concert everyone is different, special and personal, than the one before.
I noticed Paul's girlfriend a few rows back in the 10th row dancing in the isle she was having a good time. But of course. Dallas security bothered her at one point too. What's with the over zealous security? Damn already..
The crowd seemed to get really warmed up around the 2nd part of the concert. People were drinkin. I tell you. Lots of intoxicated fans, trying to creep up and get a better look of Macca & The band. It was a sight as security escorted them back to their seats..
