Yo  James Durbin I was Amazed!!!
update below

OK, so I'm watching American Idol.. Than it's James - ( The Rocker ) turn to pick a song from his favorite artist whom he admires - Loves.. And who does he pick? Paul McCartney..That's right  What the? Dude are you serious?!! What Macca song is  he going to sing?.. Maybe I'm Amazed.. Ok, the kids got 'The Rocker' Voice. Last week he did a Judas Priest - hit.. nailed it . How will he do with Maybe I'm Amazed?

Damn dude, that was freaking great. It Rocked! Like Randy said you "slayed it" My only  critique would be; you didn't get to sing the song in it's entirety! I Loved how you hit them high notes with that rocker edge..brought down with the Ooohhh Oohhh Yeah.. in tune on time - perfect.  That was HOT!   I think Macca would have loved that.. Keep on Keepin on.. Note: Miema, Girl that was Bad! I dug that.....

I'm also Loving Casey Abrams. Dude you rawk hard!  Let it Loose Casey -I know you can..

Loving Steven Tyler.. Fuck Man - you Rawk and keep it real.. Steven's fun gotta Love him..and his linguistics...I dig that! Jennifer Lopez .. sweet.. like her.. and Randy Jackson? We LOVE The Dawg!

Below: James Durbins mini performance of- Maybe I'm Amazed - what do you think - more below

James Durbin - Maybe I'm Amazed American Idol 2011

 note: Too Many commercials

Yo American Idol ,there are too many freaking commercials..  hate that! Cut it with all the commercials.. I miss Simon Cowell while I'm at it.. ( really miss him )...let them sing the songs in there entirety -not snippets less commercials. Also, The judges are pretty generous with their compliments.. Some of the songs soundes like crap, really - being honest .... the rest of tonight's show?    ZZZZZZZZZZZ's

Oh My, Macca was actully on the X Factor Britians version of America Idol!

Paul and the band had just rocked Paris. I heard it rocked. Than off to do a television show, What?
Wow! just watched the video of Paul McCartney & The Band on the X Factor in the UK dated Dec 13, 09 .. Britians version of American Idol.. I thought Macca, had no interest on being on the show, or, doing music shows in general.. I am quite surprised. Does this mean Paul might do American Idol this coming Year, what are the chances? watch video below - Love Simon Cowells remark to Paul....hehehe

American Idol gets Beatlemania

American Idol gets Beatlemania
from E news!

It's been a hard day's night for American Idol, but the show finally has a ticket to ride.
The music publisher that controls the Beatles' John Lennon-Paul McCartney composed hits has given Idol the go-ahead to let its contestants have their way with the likes of "Yesterday," "Let It Be" and, should someone be so brave, "I Am the Walrus."
The scoop was served up Wednesday on Idol host Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show in Los Angeles.
"It's something we've waited for for seven seasons now," Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe told Seacrest. "Sony has agreed to release the Lennon and McCartney songbook to us."

The announcement seems unrelated to current Idol favorite David Archuleta belting "Imagine" on Tuesday night's show. "Imagine" was written by Lennon, sans McCartney, at the start of his solo career, and was performed last season by Blake Lewis.

The songs that Idol has come into belong to Sony/ATV Music Publishing, a company formed by Industry giant Sony and pop legend Michael Jackson.
(Lennon, who died in 1980, and McCartney long ago lost control of their own Fab Four-era hits.)
On the Sony/ATV website, there are more than 180 songs listed that are credited to either:

Lennon-McCartney; McCartney, minus Lennon; Lennon-McCartney with Starkey (aka Ringo Starr); and Lennon-McCartney with Starkey and Harrison (as in George).
It was not immediately known if Idol has dibs on all of those songs.

Last year, when it was reported that Idol was planning a Beatles night, Ken Warwick, another executive producer, told USA Today that "certain songs are still off-limits." As things turned out, the whole deal fell through, and Idol ended up with a curiously Beatle-free British Invasion night.
The Sony/ATV Beatles songs run from A, as in "A Day in the Life," to Y, as in "Your Mother Should Know." They do not include standards penned solely by Harrison, including "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun."
Still, from "Oh, Darling" to "In My Life," there's plenty of material for Idol hopefuls to soar with or butcher, whichever the case may be.

to be con.......

Paul and Ringo on American Idol

Paul and Ringo on American Idol

So do you believe Paul McCartney or Ringo will be invited this year to American Idol?

Personally I think it would be a brillant idea. I wish Exec's & Simon Cowell would extend an invitation to the remaining living Beatle legends. Even if they were to refuse, at least Exec's will have given it a shot.

Idol seems to get bigger & better each season. I also think ratings would sore thru the roof!

American Idol is such a great avenue for youngsters who would not have such a chance in a cut throat industry in most cases.

I Love the auditions and the guts it takes to stand in front of Randy, Paula & Simon along with the millions of viewers that tune in every week. Shoot, Paul or Ringo could be a guest judge,
now that would rock! Do you think Paul & Ringo will ever appear on Americans version of idol or is this just wishful thinking of fans?

Oh man NO, America's got talent, not the Hoff!

Oh hell no!

Ok, I must admit that I DO like some reality TV especially music related telly. I just had to watch this last episode (which is still on) of "America's got talent" But no, say it wasn't so! David Hasselhoff attempted to sing
"This is the moment?" It was dreadful! what the feezy? Hassellhoff was all over the place on this tune, not to mention off key! Truly embarrassing for him in front of millions of viewers. oh man I hope somebody posts this on YouTube~ seeing is believing. To watch this was truly painful. American Idol contestants could do much better than this without a full blown orchestra that accompanied Hassellhoff. Not to mention they tried to rip off"Idols" finale with guest artists. Yes it's another one of Cowell babys. NO, I'm not hatin on the Hoff but that was pure crap!
Simon Cowell would be rollling at this moment. Anyone else see this?

Beatles Band use of songs on new reality tv Singin Bee

The Beatles Ban Singing Bee Bosses From Karaoke Covers

The producers of hit new TV karaoke contest The Singing Bee have been banned from using The Beatles and The Four Seasons hits on the show.
The fun show, hosted by former 'N Sync star Joey Fatone, gives audience members the chance to croon hit songs, and fill in the words when the karaoke mscreen goes blank.
The show has become a big hit in America, but some music industry executives are far from impressed - and they've refused to clear the classics for use on the programme.
Producer Phil Gurin says,

"There are certain artists who just don't clear for these kinds of shows - The Beatles being the number one.

harleyblues take:

Why? American Idol has used Beatles songs and eveyone elses music under the sun, On IDOL, what is the difference, I see none.

The "singing Bee" IS a funny music show give it a view> I met one of the producers of the show after the show in LA. "Paul McCartney's secret gig" at a British restaurant near The Amoemba on Sunset. We all sat there at a round table outside, worn out and drained, waitin on our food (great place, great setting) I don't remember his name at this moment but he was young. funny as hell, with black rimmed glasses so If your reading my blog "dude your right, the show is funny as hell"!
