Our Macca to Rock the White House, this Wednesday June 2nd. Paul to receive The Gershwin prize for Popular Song from The Library of Congress.The Highest musical honor--wow!.

Paul is the 3rd recipient to receive such an esteemed honor. past honoree's, Paul Simon & Stevie Wonder. Paul recently announced on an online chat, he would be playing the White House..'You heard it here first' he said.-Miles of Smiles coming from Paul. Paul fans already knew Paul, would be playing for the President back in March we just didn't know when-ha! I bet the guys in the band are in awe..We're playing The what -?!!

Query, what about the Set list?
I wonder what the set list will consist of? 'Sing The Changes' for sure 'Michelle'. ( Paul had commented in the past he wanted to sing 'Michelle', for -The First Lady ) Will the First lady blush. Will this be a subdued show or a rocker? ( I'm hoping for a Rawker! ) Some 'Helter Skelter', 'I've got a feeling', 'Paper Back Writer', '1985' perhaps? Oh Yeah!

Hello, my friends, Just a quick word before I head out to rehearse for a show at THE WHITE HOUSE {!!!} Ok, it’s not often you get to say that, right?...

I am so honored to have this opportunity to play with Paul for the President and
his wife, as well as most members of the US Senate. Paul is being honored and
awarded the Gershwin Award for songwriting. This isonly the third time in
history the award has been given and it is most deserved, isn’t it?

Just watched Paul McCartney accept his award via The official White House feed.. Even tho the streaming was off, it was nice to see Macca receive his award, accepting his prestegeous prize !! You Go Macca!

I was to lazy tired to post this yesterday, after posting the Kanye post-that wore me out! ha!
anyhow I thought that awfully sweet, Paul McCartney wants to sing for Michelle Obama. Well we all knew it would be Michelle, but why not Blackbird? 'hey, Paul tells the story best why he wrote that song in the 60's. black women's struggle and civil rights's issues back than. It's a lovely song.

The Spoof had written a story about Paul McCartney's Michelle was written for Michelle Obama in Sept. I posted it here,

New Yawk, NY-- Sir Paul McCartney said today the famous Beatle's song, 'Michelle', was written for Michelle Obama. The ex-Beatle was in New Yawk today for treatment on his marijuana addiction. Sir Paul says he smokes "about 20 joints a day, or maybe just 11.  (ya mean Snoop Dog right?)  " He hopes Michelle Obama has heard the song and hopes she enjoys it.

Sir Paul said the idea for the song came about one day when he and John Lennon were smoking some great Turkish hashish back in 1965

"We were talking about the future and all the famous people that weren't even born yet. We were both so stoned! We wanted to write a song for them, to let them know we were thinking about them anyway. It was my idea, John stole it of course, the asshole! Michelle Obama was only one-year old at the time but we knew she would be famous one day somehow." said Sir Paul through a thick haze of marijuana smoke.

"'Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds' was written for Lucy Diamond. She will be the first president of the world in 2200. Also, 'Lovely Rita' was written for Rita Maid. She won't be born for another thousand years though. I forget what she will be famous for. God, I'm still so stoned!

"Sir Paul had many other anecdotes to share but forgot them. "Memories almost full now, the hard drive is all gummed up with hash tar now. God, I miss those days. I'm going over to the Dakota Building now to see John. Won't he be surprised!"
