Earlier this week, Paul McCartney, announced, he would be playing a one off, lunchtime gig at The 100 Club in London; before finishing off his incredible Up & Coming tour In Liverpool & London, ending out the year- this coming weekend..Paul, surprised fans with tunes he has never played at gigs ie: Honey Hush & Hitch Hike a Marvin Gaye tune he had played earlier this week at the Apollo theater in New York...
Some of those picked for the setlist below are what you could hear at a McCartney sound check.
( Oh, so intimate ) Paul, played to an intimate crowd of 300 to 350 fans queuing in the freezing snow and rain.. waiting to get in- for those lucky enough to score tix..Paul rarely plays intimate gigs. The last one at Amoeba Records in Hollywood in 2007 where we waited in line for 3 days- than separated by CD stands. So, these gigs are truly special..
He even brushed the hands of some- in the front row- damn!...Dawn & Rick you're lucky to have been there :) Ahh, my friend Danica was there also?!!~ dang-it lol and me a dreadful 7 weeks I've had- and sent home again for being sick.. If I had the money and the time I'd be in Liverpool & London too- sniff- ha!! So, .......how was YOUR lunch?

Ok, I know this is crazy, I had to switch back my blog to harleyblues2007 coz, you couldn't find my blog in Google search, until it's redirected to the new domain I won't be messing with it any longer .. I believe all is OK for now.. . So what happened at Toronto?
Two posts below, I had mentioned I had been posting from the hotels media center, when I had arrived in Toronto.. ( Thank Goodness for that)
I mentioned, how, Snoop Dogg, was staying at the same hotel as I - this was at 3am in the morning. . I had flown in that same day. I needed a good night's sleep for the 12 hour travel time.. well that didn't happen so much, as I woke up at 8:30 am- shoot..
I decided on the breakfast ( not good) than for a lil nap before I had to get ready for the gig.. after numerous calls too Jen, we had finally made contact. ( she, had our tix) We were to meet at The Loose Moose, a local favorite.. Me above: Air Canada Center 1st night
Sept 4th - it's been a rough week and a half- this post will be updated..this coming week...
At The Loose Moose I had met up with Jen & John.. who spoke about Macca gigs and drank pints, while I, made another sign ( quite horrible I might add ) for the fact, I was tired on adrenaline ( no drugs) and the black marker was crap.. It was the best I could do for the moment..We had met several people who came from, out of the country- mostly New York. . Finally, off to Air Canada Center.. there were tons of people waiting inline. It was hot. It was humid. We weren't going to wait in that line, a quarter mile long.. We went thru the venue entrance.. Security stopped us, and almost didn't permit us to bring in our signs.. F man!! " But we are in the front Jen & I chimed I" They guy finally agreed and let us in...
Hell yeah! 2nd row seats!
Took our seats in the 2nd row- dead Center of Paul McCartney.. Our tickets had read, we would have isle seats.. However, they blocked off the 1st 6-7 rows making it impossible for people to cut in.. Jen & I were excited as the show began.. The set list was the same as other gigs with a few minor changes.. Paul noticed Jen & I caring on like any huge Macca/Beatle fan would do, and smiled, laughed, giving us alot of attention... ( thanx Paul)I have to say this was one of my top McCartney gigs ever.. The first being, Liverpool in 2003..
Paul Flubs Up the lyrics
Mid way thru the gig, as Paul and the band were to begin " I got a Feeling" Paul happened to look in our direction, as I held up the mini version of my sign " I Love That Song" as he began the 1st verse, Paul, was reading it.. he flubbed up the words .. Singing the first line "I got a feeling a feeling deep inside OH NO!" ha!! instead of " I got a Feeling a feeling deep inside OH YEAH" he gave me a devilish grin.. looked at Brian, Paul and Brian laugh- looked at us.. than walked towards Abe, most likely trying to regroup. This all went down in a matter of a few seconds.. Jen & I laughed so hard~ ahhhhh That was too funny I tell you...
Sign Sign Every where a sign
Thru the half way mark, I had asked Jen, when should hold up the sign I had made at the Loose Moose? She said 'hold it up now' it was after Yesterday, I believe? Paul saw me hold it up..
People were chanting, read it read it!!! He wouldn't read it!! He gave me the most dreadful look.. Ut-Oh.. I put the sign down.. I had that sinking feeling, that he might be pissed or annoyed, I wasn't sure.. I sure felt stupid at that exact moment.. oops~
after one more song which I cannot recall now.. He mentioned the signs how he didn't want to read them, but couldn't help it.. There were many signs in the crowd.. Paul looked around & read the various signs.. he read two a teenage girl held up..' Will you teach me Piano'- 'Can I have one of your Picks?' Danica's 'Sign Let it Be on my arm' Paul, by passed my, home made sign, once again..

Well it looks like I got beat to it posting about Jen's encounter with Paul McCartney.. I have posts on Toronto, but wanted to post about Jen first...:) included is a video montage - of piccie's taken by Jen & than some from the Up & Coming Tour- you got to see the video included- below!
Jen and I had planned on Toronto, but we needed
Tix for the 1st night. I mentioned to her why not try Ebay?..
so we rang each other from coast to coast- scanning Ebay, for tickets. They wanted outrageous prices- for Macca- so I found one seller who had great seats. I had Jen, doing the emailing to inquire; since she is so perfect, being an English teacher and all.

the tickets we wanted were sold to someone else last minute- the seller mentioned to Jen we might have some more tickets comming up
success! Yes Jen. let's do this~ and we bought our tickets for the first night, 2nd row!
Jne had bought the Sound check package- Still I needed to find one for the 2nd night foiund one on ticket master- whew good to go~
.. Toronto 2nd night
Well, let's back up to the second night of the gig in Toronto to the Air Canada Center...Jen had called me and woke me up from a Dead sleep lol she said she was really feeling meeting Paul at the sound check that day. It's a first time for the Sound Check package for Jen.
She was just so freaking excited..Both of us running on adrenaline..thought about senarios IF we had such an encounter with Paul that day..Jen made the trek to Toronto driving over 10 hours.. Jen got the idea of making a sign created by her High School students at the end of the school year- to sign her PETA shirt..
It sounded like a brilliant idea! Jen thought, if Paul called out to her at the sound check she'd have Paul sign the Vegetarian PETA shirt.. Well Jen was quite shocked when Paul McCartney had read the Peta sign and said that he would! wow! Paul gave her the option one or the other- lol :) from Jen's experience below:
I held the sign aloft in between the first three songs, and I saw Paul shade his eyes, look at me, and then heard him say "Okay". I couldn't tell if it was wishful thinking on my part that he was talking to me, or to the sound guy Pab, so I held the sign aloft two songs later. Paul said, "Yes, I see your sign, we'll do that later. Save your arm strength."
For the next hour and a half I was a non-stop ball of energy, dancing with Shelley during "San Francisco Bay Blues", chatting to everyone around me, etc. Shelley actually came over and patted me on the back in a half hug when Paul said he would do it later. Funny thing is that because he didn't read the sign out loud, no one knew what I had asked for. Folks kept asking what song I asked for, and I had to calmly tell them I was going to meet my hero, my idol, the person I've been hoping to meet for all thirty-five of my years. Sigh.
I was leaping out of my skin at the end, worried Paul had forgotten me, so I held the sign aloft again and he nodded at me, but he had also made sure to get one of his people, a very nice woman whose name I forgot to ask, to escort me to Paul's Scottish security guard. I kept trying to walk past them because they were just standing in place, and I was worried about Paul leaving--she kept saying, "I know you're excited, but we have to wait for security." I made sure to apologize to her, then to the security guard, for being such a spaz. They both seemed used to it, though.
Here's the part you''ve all been waiting for: First, Paul's personal photographer took photos and promised to e-mail them to me. He'd better. I was taken to the side of the stage and watched Wix and Brian walk backstage--if I wasn't swallowing my tongue at this point, I would have said hello, but they both looked in a rush, so I let them by. I was babbling to the woman who works for Paul who escorted me, telling her I taught high school, and she told me that, given the fact I work with teenagers, I could pull off calm and encouraged me to be that. Apparently, Paul isn't a huge fan of people who gush and are jittery around him, although I'm not sure how folks wouldn't be those two things around him. She said, "It's better if you're calm," so I took a deep breath when he walked down the stairs toward me and tried really hard not to pee myself.
Jen Meets Paul McCartney!
He greeted me, then asked about signing my shirt. At this point, I told him I taught high school and had promised several students I would get a tattoo of his signature if I ever met him, but that I would prefer the shirt getting signed. Then I said, "I don't want to be greedy, so if you want to sign both, great, but one or the other would be fine, too." He thought for a second, then said to pick one. I thought for a second, then said, "The kids come first, so the arm." Then I held out my left arm and jokingly turned my head to the side as if he were going to tattoo me himself. God, I'm such a dork. I forgot to mention that there were about five or six of Paul's people watching this whole scene, the folks who work with the VIP package participants, and a few laughed or drew a sharp breath when I told him to go with what the students wanted. I think one of them even said, "Whoa". Oh, and the video guy taped the whole thing, too.
Anyway, he started to go for my upper arm, but I said I was hoping he'd sign my inner lower arm, in the elbow to wrist area. He looked at it, looked at me, then said, "You want it there?" I replied, "Well, there, or the upper arm, actually, wherever you prefer." He looked at both areas then said, "Artistically, I'm feeling this area," and went at the upper arm. He really took his time and did a very nice signature, which I appreciated. Then he underlined it and I said my students would appreciate it. At that, he said, "Since it's for the kids..." Then he went about drawing a face with distorted eyes, a smile, curly hairs and ears that stick out below the signature.
He then handed the marker back to me and told me to say hi to the kids for him. As he walked away, I think I told him I was looking forward to tonight's show. He nodded and went backstage. Oh, this was after I snuck in a hug, of course.

Fast forward, Wow! well, I entered The Air Canada Center.. Looking for Jen.. she almost walked past me in the 14th row and she shyly smiled than grinned pointing at her arm > Paul had signed her freakin arm!!!

I was shocked happy & a lil bit sad it wasn't me.. She got her arm signed before me heheheh.. Jen was on cloud nine and began to relive her experience with me... said Jen

Hey People!! It's 8:52 pm Friday night. I had to work today-got off early and ran around doing stuff, before my next adventure, Toronto, Canada~ finally sat down, and it's almost 9 pm? Where did the time go? I suppose, I should plan a little better next time..ha! why I leave everything last minute is beyond me :) Anyhow, I have never been to Toronto, and I'm getting excited to go.
. what time do you gotta be at the Airport?
I have to be at the airport at 5:30 am-yikes! while all of you, will be sleeping in your beds happy and content dreaming of?.
ME, I'll be half asleep, waiting to board my flight, after 6 am. it's going to be a bit of an ordeal getting from Pearson airport to downtown Toronto from what I hear. I am hoping I get to the hotel before dusk.. I'm a bit cross-eyed as I type at this very mo.heheheh. Perhaps I will post a lil bit more at 4am. I cannot wait to see Paul McCartney again outside of the United States. Another adventure awaits!
What's new on the setlist
I hear, Paul & the band will have a full pipe band. Is Mull Of Kintyre going to be played?! I LOVE THAT SONG!~ I have never heard a pipe band live; or Mull for that matter. Ohh my..Oh, I hope Paul decides to mix up the set list a bit; will he or won't he, that IS the question?

Oh Canada~
It's 2:05 pm Canada time...geez, what a mini night-mare getting here to downtown Toronto.. The city is closed off; (meaning you can't get into downtown from the freeway) so, it took even a longer bus trip to arrive here at the hotel... the freeways are jammed packed with traffic. Just found out from the front desk there is a closer airport minutes away actually..ha!!! I arrived at 6:30 pm- so in total 12 hrs of travel time..hahaha~ took awhile to get thru customs and to find my bag that I had to check. And how was your day? wondering if I can change my flight back to the states?

last night after I posted, I was in the front lobby. I noticed a crew come in.. The guy in the front looked like Snoop dog. Nah Snoop can't be here, but it sure looked liked him..so I'm back down outside today a guy asks me for a ciggy. he way flying a Lakers jacket :) I said ' did you notice Snoop was here or? ' the guy says 'oh yeah Snoop was here for a gig' he played last night. They're on their way to Novia Scotia... the guy's name was Carlos, Snoops drummer. Coolio, right on drummer I told him.. I would have liked to have met Snoop myself .. that's a 2nd time I almost bummed into the Dog.. told him- I was here for Paul McCartney.. Carlos said he loved Paul!.. Well, Right On Carlos (we love Paul too) drummers freakin Rawk.. Now I'd like to meet Abe, Paul's drummer.
Ok People, tonights gig at the Air Canada Center was freakin cool.. The people of Toronto so great and welcoming .. What the hell?

Hey people, these last two gigs were some of Paul McCartney's best ever! I lost my fucking phone in a cab..& my friend Jen got her arm signed by Paul @ the sound check.. what the? I am happy for her.. I wish it was me.. but Jen deserves it!~..I swear, I didn't cry when she walked up to me tonight- me in the 14th row on the isle.. I was shocked.. more when I get back to the states..~ I have a very very early flight!!~

In San Francisco for Macca!! . Hey people, I have finally arrived in San Francisco. Using the media center, now- on borrowed time of a credit card.. Is it freakin cold here or what? Me, just wearing a tee-shirt. Missed my first train to the city. waited another full hour. a total of 2 hours .Will tell that story perhaps tomorrow.. ^ Anyhow, I can't wait to see Paul McCartney & the Band - plus, friends I haven't seen in ages.. now I'm going to scout around for a jacket and a bite to eat. I'm currently in the heart of the city - at the Sir Francis Drake, nice OL English hotel.. it husling and busling here in the city did I mention cold?!. btw.. this has just cost me $21 for 21 minutes.. ha!! I really need to get me a lap top.. stay tuned!

Whew, just woke up after getting home earlier today; an exciting and interesting Macca gig this time around- off to bed as work calls in the am. Sound check, was brilliant at AT&T Park! Paul is very funny. Camera didn't die this time around-will update tomorrow..
San Francisco Sound check
well I managed to take a lil over 100 piccie's let's see how many turned out? This was suppose to be a great gig, getting the sound check package- things actually didn't happen, as expected.. What was great, the sound check...Paul's banter and humor; Paul and the band jamming songs..
It was a hot summer day when we were finally ushered out onto the field to hear the Sound check.. Before, Paul arrived-

"WIX" came around and walked thru the soundcheckers- one fan asked for a piccie as did I; this was a first time, ever meeting Wix. He was very gracious & a gentlemen. I shook his hand and said "Hi Wix, I'm McCartney" - with the black Macca hat. It sat on the chair, as we both looked too the chair. The look on his
face was priceless..I might have surprised him a bit, with the McCartney name- hehehe It was great to meet Wix. :) Now, If I can only meet Abe & paul...:) psst. Wix, has soft hands~ :)

Paul finally arrived.. Paul was in rare form, as always. We all greeted Macca with cheers and excitement! all done up with sunglasses and all, Paul and the band ( with sunglasses ) began their mini jam session. . Paul welcomed us and asked 'where the flowers were in our hair?' hahahaha- Paul jammed, San Francisco Bay Blues - Ram On- Every night- Sea Melody~to name a few.. Paul, than spoke to us. a Sign _ I see- I LOVE THAT SONG!~ ..

said Paul McCartney. Did Paul say anything else, did I miss a thing? as I held up the sign- blowing in my face, I laughed. Paul made me laugh and I was trying to get him and the band to laugh! I held up the sign, each time, Paul, started a new song.. Wow, coolio.. Would Paul get the sign this time?
Note: we're are all great fans of Paul McCartney ~ Me, just one in a million~ . Second time Macca had spoken to me from the stage at sound check.. first time in Dallas- That was FUN also.. Paul just thanked me?! ahh.. Wow, trip! I don't think he could see the sign clearly I wasn't sure..I wanted him to "try on - the hat".. I knew it was slim chance but, . I have worn this 'MACCA hat' to over 30 gigs so far - it has traveled alot of miles- with me... I than wanted to make sure I could remember what Paul had said..? my mind raced quickly~ . NO, Thank you Paul! For all the music..I tried, to shout back!~ Paul, than mentioned an 8 year old girl was in the group today along with an 80 year old man who's birthday was today ? all ages.~ here today ..he than read BeatleBarbs sign- not sure what it said..something about the Beatles~ ? as he mentioned years~ I couldn't hear what he said clearly~ note: the 2nd half of this blog post is difficult to write: it started off as a great day - than went bad- all bad before the gig started!~ sigh! Some reason I cannot upload foto's again ..I will in the days to come.. We were lead to the Vip lounge and had a great veggie dinner. Yum!
what about security?~ Soon to our seats...Well, I went to sit down.. and obviously the 5th row had too much 'party' many drunk.. I got yelled at about wearing my hat. I was in the 4th row..I didn't say a thing. a couple, were kicking my chair and yelling, cussing in my ear along with the guy next to me; who was part of the VIP soundcheck- I felt very bad for him.. the couple became threatening- So I went to security; One of Paul's head security was too busy doing stuff when I tried to ask for some help..the head security of AT&T park talked to the couple and informed them if they kept up they would be thrown out.. he meant business~ . This couple was arguing with security. I didn't say a word. ..Are you kidding me? In all the gigs I have been too, I had never had a problem. if that wasn't bad enough, a huge guy next to the couple got in on the action.. Yelling and cussing at me thru-out the gig.. I didn't know what to do?.. there was a fan over 6 ft tall, who stood in front of me the whole time taking piccies- nothing else and I had to duck and dodge trying to get a view.. While trying to help a woman get a view to take pics herself... I hope MPL gets wind somehow, on the possible dangers for woman solo fans- at Paul McCartney's upcoming gigs~ being harrassed.. and lookout for us in those first few rows... is this at all possible?! . Female Fans Safety~ I wasn't sure whether to call security again and I worried that if they, had, come to talk to this drunk man- and left - he might hit me or something? he kept pushing me- saying foul things and I finally turned around and gave him a dirty look- During 1985- I put my hat on and he said "Bitch I can't see" - he was huge. He took my hat and hid it underneath a chair...wow~ this same guy was even bothering me before the gig started, along with the ranting couple- asking about after party's and if I had any weed?..
Every time, I attempted to hold up my banner. Whamo! I was hit in the right arm..We pay alot of money to be in these seats, to have a beautiful time, and at $1500 the 2nd half of my night was ruined as I had to deal - with screaming, harassing drunks .. It was hard to focus on the gig..I was concerned for my personal safety...I never want to go through that again..I want to enjoy Paul McCartney & his band!

Woohooo Coming Up San Francisco with Macca!
Alright, I'm getting nervous, next stop for Macca & The band is San Francisco! Every gig time, I get stressed and excited at the same time.. Does this ever happen to you? I can officially say, I am now, Paul McCartney broke as I have two more gigs to attend after this one..I am flat busted..don't know how long it will be when I will be able to attend another gig after the next 3. Like most, I have spent major bank..$$$ . Some friends encouraged me to go..so what if your broke? You're a big fan, Go For it!! You might regret it years down the line they say. If you don't go. Sometimes I just need a lil nudge- :):) hehehehe~
A new Sign! Made Paul a new sign. If it comes out OK?. I hope to get the sign in time..For me, a McCartney gig is not just a concert, but an EVENT! Every gig is special and magical!
Tickets? Oh Canada Thank You CrowdSurge for getting tix to the fans- lots of worried Maccamaniacs worried about tickets.
Wish I had went for it and just bought the CrowdSurge tickets-without knowing if I was off or not for Toronto. I think it a better idea for Paul McCartney to sell via his webby...The fans are getting better seats this way~freakin Hollywood Bowl-we were shut out!
Speaking of tickets? whew! just found a ticket for Monday's show, in Toronto. yep flying there also. I have lost out on tickets in recent years. Meaning, I had extra's- and couldn't sell them. yep, freakin bummer. happened more than a few times in recent years. Recently, at the Hollywood Bowl. Still haven't finished that blog post of the Hollywood Bowl. I was pissed. I was left with a $395 ticket. That's right- un-used. Major bummer for someone who is, just, a working girl. I hope to find tickets- for Jen & I - for Toronto Sunday's gig..

Well, another fabulous hit for those at Macca's gig in Cardiff Scottland, where Paul played Mull Of Kintyre, ( a fan favorite) - with full pipe band; two days after his 68th Birthday.. ahh..nice... How I wish, Paul, would do Mull in the states.. why not Paul?!

Crowdsurge where's the Tix? By the way; what is up with crowdsurge ticket agency NOT providing fans with their tickets in a timely manner? tons of fans are emailing and calling the company about their Tickets for upcoming gigs- to- Paul McCartney, with no answers or feedback..People traveling internationally are left in the dark. What gives CROWDSURGE? Get in together. You can't be as bad as Ticketmaster... Get the Tix to the fans...geeez~
