Paul McCartney in Manchester - Oh Yeah!
- Tweet,Stumble or Digg it! TY~
I was suppose to arrive at 7:30am but after customs and getting suitcase it was 1pm- sad.. cos I didn't know where to get the train the cab cost £25 wheww... there goes the walking money .. gotta get monies somehow .. I was walking forever, last night, trying to find a shopping center .. Whew thank God, I arrived a few days early .. thos will be my last post for a bit since I have no computer ..
Well what did you do?
My 1st few days consisted of trying to find plug adapters for appliances, what a pain in the ass,, the hotel, finally provided me with a few.. it was interesting walking around the Manchester as I went to the right of the hotel and walked to a mall several blocks away .. people were very friendly and inviting and especially in awe that I had flown from the US to the UK to see Paul McCartney... :) people I spoke to wanted to know what the US was like.. I loved the friendliness of the people in Manchester.. I had told several people .. I was going to Liverpool.. to see Macca there also.. residents of Manchester claimed:
I LOVE LIVERPOOL! it made me think of the football rivalry ..ha! not one bad thing said against Liverpool from the people of Manchester..swear!
one thing to mention, the pizza isn't that great .. but when you add the garlic sauce it's more tasty..
is veggie piazza a veggie pizza? well... where's the veggies on the piazza?
I was happy when gig day approached.. I had seen several people whom I hadn't seen in years.. alotta laugh & giggles.. however,...there was an air of superiority/ elitist attitudes. really? FUCK THAT!!! I thought it was my lack of sleep>- Note to self... David Lynch charity gig....NO! Check this, nobody's a better fan than the next person whether you have met Paul McCartney, your self, been to two gigs or 100's ...attitudes really sucked. Embarrassing- Why do people act like they are so much fucking better than the next fan?.. is it money? -
well lets fast forward to the Sound check it's self ...more of that later ... after being searched by security - we really didn't have many problems gaining entrance..the reception it's self was set up beautifully.. hot drinks and pastries.. we hadn't been at the reception area no more than 5 minutes. When Tim from MPL, ( I believe his name was ) announced Paul had arrived early.. it was time to go to the sound check it's self.. we scurried into what seemed like a small arena.. outcomes Paul, and he greets us all!! woohooo..
it's really something to attend those sound checks. each one different.. they were really jamming tightly today.. everyone dancing and having a great time - it didn't seem so cliquey at the sound check..:) Macca reads signs and of course I brought the BLUEBIRD sign . Paul read it I'm guessing as he broke into Bluebird ..There was no dedication this time or change of lyrics like at Yankee's Stadium..this past summer..
I do appreciate Paul singing it... very much. There were two girls from Argentina, sisters who had a banner " Go PAUL -LUV from Argentina"- Paul read it of course.. (I have a banner that large to hard to hold by myself )..than there was Phil with his Christmas hat ..too funny, some fans from Japan, the UK and of course the US ...and one lady who came from Korea..was she related to MJ Kim Paul's fotographer? Paul called no one up on stage during Sound check.. and soon it was over off for a dinner.. I'm forgetting the Sound check set list at the moment...oops~
part two coming soon!

Paul McCartney in Manchester - Oh Yeah!!
After a long bout of being sick - now getting to my blog posts
Going back a few weeks to Dec 16th
I'm in Manchester and it's costing me 30p per min to type you here... OK so it's been an adventure already .. we fly in to Manchester and had to be diverted to Birmingham.. the flight was already a 1/2 late .. as we sat in the plane for a few hours.. mind you, we were in a very cramped aircraft !! everyone was upset of course it was snowing buckets at the airport also ice.. finally, at 11:30am we flew back to Manchester it was still snowing and tons of ice around.. I was up over 24 hours with no sleep .. I was suppose to arrive at 7:30am but after customs and getting suitcase it was 1pm- sad.. cos I didn't know where to get the train the cab cost £25 wheww... there goes the walking money .. gotta get monies somehow .. On The Run Tour - Europe!!
de- Tweet,Stumble or Digg it! TY~
.
Who's going?~ who's excited?!!!! Hey people it's November 24th- in the US they are celebrating Thanksgiving ..Other parts of the world, who knows? What I do know is, Paul McCartney is about to kick off the last part of 2011 in Europe.. with his 'On The Run Tour'.. He recently played Abu Dhabi. I for one have no idea where Abu Dhabi is? I'm sure it was great, as ALL Paul McCartney gigs are great and if you have a ticket your in for a treat!
So me, me,.. Lil Ol self will be heading to Manchester on December 15th.. Not ready for it yet; have to get psyched! Life's been happening, distracting me from these up coming gigs and my blog.. For those that follow, please, keep following...sorry for the lag..
"With a Little Luck, God and Macca willing, maybe, I can meet him this time?!! "
wish!!!!!!!
Damn, it's so bittersweet as these will most likely be the last two gigs I see Macca in concert . I thought New York, this past summer was my last- however, I got creative and so I AM going- Yeah ME!!! After 40 plus McCartney concerts I am past tapped out.. awww..in car repairs mind you freakin BMW's hahahaha.. I was walking to work and on the bus the other day as my vehicle broke down for the 10th time saying: "Man, I've been half way around the world, seeing Paul McCartney all over the place and here, I have no money to fix; let alone buy a new car"..It was really something to think about as, I continued to walk.. In just a few short weeks I'll be flying to England,, and here I walk, no money in my pockets- an odd sobering fact,,,
I am so grateful of this day that I will be able to go to the UK too see Paul McCartney, especially in Liverpool.. I have not been to Liverpool since 2003 (One of my most favorite- memorial gigs to date ). Last, Macca was in Liverpool in summer and winter in recent years - I could not get a ticket! .This means so much; for a broke ass working girl like me.... so please, stay tuned.. and let's see what unfolds.. Paul McCartney is in Italy Rocking them Italians this week on November 27th.. I'm sure he will be greeted with a passionate crowd.. I must say, I dig the European gigs the best, just sayin :)
stay tuned!!!

I'm getting nervous it's almost time to see Paul McCartney & Ringo!
Morning people! I hope you are fine and in, great spirits. It's been two years since I have seen Paul McCartney live. In just two short weeks, I will be, one of those lucky fans who did get a ticket to The Charity gig in New York. I am, tremendously excited! I'm excited to see Paul and Ringo perform together! A first for me, ever. I hope & pray I get that one day off in April so I may see Macca in Vegas too.
Seeing Paul McCartney live is a surreal spiritual experience
The first time I had ever seen Macca live, was in 2002. Reason being, Macca hadn't toured in years since he was with Wings, in the 90's, Berkley being one of his last gigs-in the bay area. There was no Internet-only local radio or your favorite record store that announced such gigs. I was so disappointed, I had no money, no car, but prayed one day, that I would actually see Paul McCartney perform live. Here we are 2009 and I have went to every gig- that I could possibly attend and AFFORD~ lol
Seein Macca live, for me, is such a surreal spiritual experience. The Beatles music touches my heart and my soul-that is actually difficult to form into words. Their music is healing. The Beatles sing about everyday people. I love that! I suppose one of those reasons is, you cannot believe you are actually seeing a former living Beatle, sing such songs, as you heard as a young kid. You say OMG- I LOVE that freakin song!!
I can't believe Macca is singing this one?!!. Such as, 'She's leaving home', 'Helter Skelter', 'She came in thru-the bathroom window'. Or, 'Too Many people', via The Wings era. Paul performing live brings you to tears. You feel the music.
The Beatles, have helped me thru the most unbearable times, such as being homeless, yep! Harleyblues, went thru that bullshit, a few times in fact, and other dark things I care not to comment about at this time. Thos four lads from Liverpool, Paul, John, George, Ringo and the man above, have always been there and have seen me thru- in the Sunny & Dark periods in life. I truly Love, The Beatles & I Love, Paul McCartney.. truly..: :)

"To Paul and Ringo, Thank you for the "Miles of Smiles" love you!"
We can work it out-another fav from the Fab four- dedicated to Friends!
I am also hoping, I get to see Geoff in New York and give him a hug. It's been 5 years since I have seen him. :):) See kids, never give up on your dreams you never know what might happen?
perhaps... more later? Have a beautiful day~

McCartney hails Obama at MTV awards-Liverpool
*
Accepting the honour, McCartney thanked fellow Beatles John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, adding: (hb: bless John & George)
Among the acts performing live were prominent Obama supporter West and Perry, who also welcomed Obama's election, saying: "Maybe Europe will love us again now".
The awards, voted for by viewers of music video channel MTV, were being watched by around 10,000 fans at the ceremony and some 30 million people on television worldwide.
Liverpool was chosen as one of this year's European capitals of culture partly because of its pop music heritage. (hb: wow, they were rawkin it out for Obama, HA!) While were are at it, When is the last time when Macca was on it's cover, as Person of the Year, Time that is?.

McCartney hails Obama at MTV awards-Liverpool
*
note: hb equals my lil comments
LIVERPOOL (AFP) — Ex Beatle Sir Paul McCartney was given a special gong at the MTV Europe Music Awards Thursday in his home city of Liverpool -- and used the event to hail US president-elect Barack Obama.
(hb.Hey Paul, remember when you said 'vote for Kerry' at Bridge School? that was cool of Paul to give a shout out to Obama)
McCartney was presented with the Ultimate Legend Award, created especially for him, by U2 front man Bono, who compared him to the pope and described his work as "immortal".
(hb: yeah Bono Macca is Immortal-you should bow down to him!) note: I just read Bono, got some boo's from the crowd.
Accepting the honour, McCartney thanked fellow Beatles John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, adding: (hb: bless John & George)
"Many years ago, there were four little boys born here in Liverpool and we went on to do quite well.
"Thanks to all my family, to all you for coming along, to everyone in Great Britain, to everyone in America for voting in Mr Obama."
"Thanks to all my family, to all you for coming along, to everyone in Great Britain, to everyone in America for voting in Mr Obama."
Bono said that McCartney had driven him to the awards, pointing out his old haunts en route. "It was like being in the Popemobile with the Pope driving," the Irish star said. (hb: is Bono a kiss ass? remember him on the front cover of Time-with Gates geez!)

*
Other stars also joined in the celebrations over Obama's victory this week -- Sugababes took to the stage to present an award dressed in red, white and blue while actor Jared Leto, whose band 30 Seconds To Mars won the rock out award, got the crowd on their feet in Obama's honour.
"Let's hear it for Barack Obama," he said, to loud cheers from fans.

Liverpool was chosen as one of this year's European capitals of culture partly because of its pop music heritage. (hb: wow, they were rawkin it out for Obama, HA!) While were are at it, When is the last time when Macca was on it's cover, as Person of the Year, Time that is?.

Veggie Paul McCartney is pissed off with McDonalds
11:40am Oct 8th
Well according to Geoff Baker this is false, the Spokeman part. Geoff Baker is not Paul's spokesperson,. it's news to him? read his short statement here via Geoff's blog I'm liken the comment myself posted in the Sun..We miss you Geoff!
8:pm Oct 7th
OK, so I never got that phone call today from Paul or Ringo on my birthday, see post below. I thought of Paul, Ringo and Geoff Baker, I haven't heard from Geoff in ages! it was nice to watch the vid of Geoff & Paul hugging in the beginning of "Long and Winding Road" vid not until 10 mins. ago when I read this from the Sun.
VEGGIE campaigner Sir Paul McCartney has blasted McDonald’s after accusing them of using his picture to flog HAMBURGERS.
Macca, a vegetarian for 30 years, hit the roof after hearing staff at the fast food chain had put up pictures of the Beatles to attract customers.
His portrait appears alongside band mate John Lennon and fellow veggies Ringo Starr and the late George Harrison at a Liverpool branch.
Sir Paul’s spokesman Geoff Baker fumed: “What sort of morons do McDonald’s think Beatles fans are?
“It’s ridiculous and insulting to use images to peddle hamburgers. Fans should boycott McDonald’s — and not just in Liverpool.” read more here
I had lunch at McDonalds today
What is so ironic after I went to the pharmacy to get my prescription today and almost had my car wiped out by a RV while driving. I went to McDonalds since they have that new Monopoly game out, you cannot win if you donot play right? Anyhow, I was going thru the drive thru where a man asked me if I could spare any change?
"Dude, your asking me for money on my birthday?" the man was surprised, he began to tell me of his plight, he was homeless and jobless. I have been there before, I told the man. I know what it's like not to have money and being homeless several times in my life. it sucks.
I reached in my wallet and gave the man a $1 than made it $2 I was almost in tears., I blessed the man. I went thru the drive-thru and told them at the window., "Please buy the man standing outside asking for money, some lunch, I'll pay." So I bought him what I bought myself. parked the car and walked around the side of the building and gave the man his lunch. He was so grateful he wished me Happy Birthday and gave me a hug. smiles.
It just seems so strange talking about Paul & Geoff and thinking of them after the video. hum? I also think it's quite strange, if not weird, that Mikey D's would post piccies of the Beatles inside a Liverpool McDonald's, don't you?
If it had been a world wide veggie restaurant that everyone on the known universe knew about regardless of what language you speak, now that would be something else.
So perhaps I will heed Geoff's Boycott request. I'm already boycotting them liars called Starbucks and their burnt, over priced coffee. equally coincidental I happened ro go to McDonald's today. Boycott McDonalds ha maybe?
Geoff, if you happen to read this, can you please, tell Macca I missed his birthday call... to me.. just in case he wasn't aware of it? lmao! I had a crappy birthday. The silver lining tho -was buying the man outta work lunch from McDonald's ha! Nice to read you in the news Geoff, hugs.

Whats up for Paul McCartney now?
^
^
Whats up for Paul McCartney now?
So Quebec fans are most likely still, on a natural high from Macca's HUGE gig last Sunday. Today Paul is in Liverpool for graduation ceremonies at LIPA.
Man that was great in 2003 waiting for Paul & Heather to come out of the School to hopefully catch a glimpse of him, and Paul almost running over my foot!~ true story... I was waiting with the media than we all decided to run to the back should have stayed in the front, damn!. Seeing students with signed instruments, this one student was on cloud nine when Paul signed his guitar it was beautiful.. (wish that had been me!)..
I have never gotten Paul McCartney's autograph and yes I have been so close, don't you hate when that happenes?
Will Paul be giving anymore FREE gigs? Will he hit the US next, or Australia, or some other country? I sure hope it is NOT Israel! Don't do it Paul.. I guess we all just have to wait and see what Paul has up his sleeve? Stay tuned!!
