Wanna Own a Hofner like Paul's for 2 grand and some change, you can

Wanna Own a Hofner like Paul's for 2 grand and some change, you can.

In 1956, Walter Hofner had an idea for an amplified semi-acoustic bass. When it was brought to life, his idea revolutionized popular music. Many players revere Hofner's Violin Bass as a legend because of its historical significance and its warm, woody, double-bass-like amplified tone.

Paul and his Hofner, and the rest of us at the Amoeba in LA

The Hofner Violin Bass is a unique instrument with a smooth, sweet sound and a playing ease that simply eludes most ordinary basses. Based on Paul McCartney's 1962 Violin Bass, it replicates details of the original including the "strip" machine heads, the slot-head screws on the hardware, and the 2-piece neck.

These are authentic touches that connect this instrument to an earlier time. In the Vintage '62 Hofner has created a replica of Paul's bass historically accurate enough to satisfy even the most demanding Beatles fan. Wouldn't this be nice if it was signed? ha!~

Ok so Israel wants to apologize to The Beatles

OK so the The Israeli ambassador to London, Ron Prosor, wants to apologize to The Beatles.

OK, I was going to post about this yesterday but I was just so damn fascinated with the idiot Murder for hire plot on Craigslist.

The ambassador is hanging out in Liverpool at this moment wanting to pass out some letters to
John Lennon' s sister Julia Baird at The Beatles museum in Liverpool - Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr have also been cordially invited. Mr. Posner would like to present Ms Baird with an
"official letter" of apology from the State of Israel for banning the band’s members from performing in the country in 1965. Letters will also be sent to Paul, Ringo & George's family.

Did I forget to mention Prosor is also reported to be inviting Macca and Ringo to visit Israel this May as part of the country's 60th anniversary celebrations to mark its founding in May 1948. Huh? I'm a lil confused there. Don't do it Paul & Ringo!!

*
*
*snippet of the letter below:
“We would like to take this opportunity, to rectify a historic missed opportunity which unfortunately took place in 1965 when you were invited to Israel. Unfortunately, the State of Israel cancelled your performance in the country due to lack of budget and because several politicians in the Knesset had believed at the time that your performance might corrupt the minds of the Israeli youth".

Harleyblues take:
Ha, now what would John Lennon think of such a letter? Macca's just too nice, he's bound to accept isn't he? after all this guy is "Official" Paul, don't go over there it's too risky! Ringo, now I could see him making a joke outta the whole thing, "let bygones be bygones'.

I don't mean to sound like a lemon, but isn't it just a tad to late? C'mon John & George are no longer here sadly. Respectfully I'm just not feelin this apology letter thing, as a lover of the Fab Four. I donnot believe it was due to lack of funds either. Your Government was to uptight to
Let em in sorta speak, and didn't want to tarnish the imagine of the country, this is what I'm feelin.~
Now if the Government of the Philippines and Imelda Marcos apologized to The Beatles for throwing them out of their country in 1966, I'd say "hey now, heres a tea party!" lets rawk~yeah!

HA, finally as I type this is in the dark a fimilar voice looms in the distance, it's Paul McCartney & Wings Live & let die, playing softly in the back ground on the radio. hum...

Craigslist Was Used In A Murder-For-Hire

Craigslist Was Used In A Murder-For-Hire

Craigslist is probably one of the best channels for connecting people with others to accomplish various goals. However, one woman abused its power to find a murderer to kill her lovers wife.A Grand Rapids woman was arrested Thursday on charges related to a murder-for-hire she is accused of trying to carry out on Internet message board Craigslist.com.

A story from Sacramento-area television station KCRA says 49-year-old Ann Marie Linscott reached out through the Internet to find someone to kill a woman in Oroville, Calif. On two occasions, she offered $5,000 to "eradicate" an Oroville woman. It turns out Linscott was having an online affair with the woman's husband, investigators said.

Special agent Steve Dupre from the Federal Bureau of Investigation said the victim's husband said he first met Linscott face-to-face when he went to Reno, Nev., in July 2005 for a conference, and that Linscott also visited him in Butte County in May 2007.The two had sexual relations while they were in Reno, the FBI said.According to an FBI press release, Linscott posted a vague offer for work as

"Freelance," with no further information. When three individuals responded, Linscott asked each of them to "eradicate a female living in Oroville, Caliornia," and provided information such as age and employment address.

harleyblues take:
I just heard this story on the news and was like WTF? you can't be serious that someone would use the ineternet to hire someone to off someone else? What, this women believed she would not be busted? How effin stupid can you be, evidently, a big time brainiac here. This women just lost the rest of her life & family to be behind bars without her honey bunch. Ohhh, bet her hubby is pissed! I am still in awe over the stupidity of this women. Perhaps her online lover will give her weekly visits in the slammer......right.

James Hyman Gallery and Paul McCartney are delighted to announce an exhibition of photographs by Linda McCartney. This is the first major exhibition of platinum prints by Linda McCartney to be presented in the UK. With the full support of Paul McCartney and his family, this exhibition is the result of a three-year collaboration with gallerist and art historian James Hyman.

Paul McCartney says: "An exhibition presenting the range of Linda’s photographic work is long overdue, so I’m obviously pleased that this show is happening. James Hyman, my daughter Mary, and I have worked on it now for three years, and the result is a sensitive selection of works that really demonstrates Linda’s creative output as a photographer. The photographs not only illustrate her incredible talent as an artist, but as someone who was very much connected to the culture of the times, and wasn’t afraid to challenge herself, or her subject."

Photographed from the 1960s up until the late 1990s, these pictures present a personal record of the times and feature many rarely seen works, as well as better known images. The exhibition includes portraits of Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel, Gilbert & George and Mick Jagger. It also presents landscapes, intimate interiors, self-portraits and family life.

To ensure each photographic print remains true to Linda McCartney’s vision Paul Caffell
(with whom she worked throughout her career) has personally printed each platinum print, whilst Paul and Mary McCartney oversaw the process and gave final approval.Beautifully presented as large platinum prints, the photographs are for sale in very limited editions, and authenticated with a certificate signed by Paul McCartney. In addition, a catalogue will be available with personal contributions from Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Peter Blake, Brian Clarke, Humphrey Ocean and Paul Caffell.

Songs that you secretly Love!

Songs that you secretly Love!

Note: There is not one single Beatle song that I can recall, that I can't stand. fyi I'll let you know if I have one.

You know, there are some songs that I secretly love & some songs that I hated with a passion, as a kid. One such song I hated with a Capitol H. was "You'll never find" I still do not know why to this date why it was I actuality hated this song? but you know, I love it now!~ Lou Rawls had a sweet, smokey voice, now didn't he? see video below. this dates back to 1975

Song that I love below-Cher

Cher-The way of love

I'm guessing this video is from the Sony & Cher variety show mid 70's Such a romantic lovely lil song. Cher is striking isn't she? I vaguely remember this show. You might think it's sappy but I'm diggin it..

You should be dancing-Bee Gees

Remember Tony Manaro-John Travolta, and his dancing body? ha!
Who could forget this movie or this sound track? Saturday Night Fever one of the biggest movies & sound tracks of all time, it rocks!.
Featuring the Bee Gees,Tavares etc.. not one bad cut on the entire album. If you have never seen the movie or listened to this sound track, do it. John Travolta rawks this flick. Awww such an impression it left on me, as a kid, no I wasn't suppose to watch it, but I did.

Paul and Ringo on American Idol

Paul and Ringo on American Idol

So do you believe Paul McCartney or Ringo will be invited this year to American Idol?

Personally I think it would be a brillant idea. I wish Exec's & Simon Cowell would extend an invitation to the remaining living Beatle legends. Even if they were to refuse, at least Exec's will have given it a shot.

Idol seems to get bigger & better each season. I also think ratings would sore thru the roof!

American Idol is such a great avenue for youngsters who would not have such a chance in a cut throat industry in most cases.

I Love the auditions and the guts it takes to stand in front of Randy, Paula & Simon along with the millions of viewers that tune in every week. Shoot, Paul or Ringo could be a guest judge,
now that would rock! Do you think Paul & Ringo will ever appear on Americans version of idol or is this just wishful thinking of fans?

You go Hillary kick ass!

You go Hillary!!

Sorry kids, I hafta voice my opinions from time to time on this Presidential race, I'm so sick of this current administration. It's been nice not seeing Pres. Bush lying to the nation lately.

Nicely said Hillary, on the debates tonight. Yep, Universal Health Care immediately for everyone employers and workers pay to much for health care already, why? and who's pockets do they fill?
Sorry Obama, who I confuse with Osama, yikes, is full of shit on his stance on health care. What the hell does he mean health care not provided for everyone?

Yes! get the troops outta Iraq within your first 60 days as you stated in your debate. Let that country fight it's own damn battle. Hum and here Bush wants to give Americans $650 in tax credits or in pocket money? Bullshit, that would hardly make a dent in the pockets of us on the west coast. If you ask me that's a slap in the face. Damn, we can't even take care of the homeless not to mention the people who can barely pay their rent and bills that struggle.

However our tax dollars bein thrown away, and kids blown away, everyday under this administration.
Invest in the people and this country for once. Why doesn't Bush dump the Billions of dollars he has dumped in Iraq back into the economy & the hands of Americans?
oh yeah, I know, wishful thinking...
Jan 23
side note:
apparently there are some Hillary haters out there as one person tried to comment, I moderate all comments, Anyhwhooo I don't care who you are for in this upcoming election. or anything else posted on my blog, just keep it friendly and real and I'll post your comments.

a Message from Paul McCartney~ via his webby!

a Message from Paul mcCartney~ via his webby!

Hi everybody,Happy New Year!

I hope it’s a great one for all of us.There’s been a lot of stuff in the newspapers over the past few months and as most of it is completely inaccurate, I have not bothered to deny any of it.There is one report though, that is causing concern amongst many friends of mine which was a recent report about a heart operation that I was supposed to have had.
People are ringing and texting me saying “are you ok?” and I hadn’t seen the report so I was puzzled by so many enquiries about my health. So I think it’s a good time to put this rumour to rest.

What happened was, over a year ago during a routine medical examination, there was a minor irregularity which I needed to have tests for and which I have now been assured is completely fine. The media have only just recently reported an exaggerated version of this and that is why people have been asking me if I am ok. So this is where the story has come from. The media reports have, as usual, completely distorted the story, calling it an angioplasty, which is entirely untrue, and this is why so many friends have been concerned about my health.

I’m happy to say that I feel great and I have passed my most recent medical with flying colours.I would like to thank all of you and my friends and relatives for your concern and I’m very happy to put your minds at rest, although I have secretly been enjoying all the sympathy I’ve been getting!Once again, happy new year and remember…don’t believe everything you read in the media.
I look forward to a rocking 2008!

Love,
Paul

I Fee Fine-says Paul!

I feel Fine~ says Paul

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Paul McCartney has reassured his fans that he feels fine and has no medical problems, despite recent reports to the contrary.

Paul McCartney has shrugged off reports claiming that he had undergone an angioplasty.

In a message posted on his Web site Thursday, the former Beatle said he was puzzled when people started asking him about his health.
Then he realized their questions stemmed from a report this month that he had undergone a heart operation.
Sir Paul, 65, said the story was "entirely untrue" and that he was fine.
"What happened was, over a year ago during a routine medical examination, there was a minor irregularity which I needed to have tests for and which I have now been assured is completely fine," McCartney said.
"The media have only just recently reported an exaggerated version of this."
He added: "I'm happy to say that I feel great and I have passed my most recent medical with flying colors."

What' are your thoughts for the New Year?

What' are your thoughts for the New Year?

~ We often think about the New Year, new beginings and what will it bring? What excitement awaits, what should we give up, a bad habit or some type of lifestyle change? what things that do not serve us any longer in our lives? We always ask ourselves these same questions, year after year.

I told myself, self, why make resolutions? people blow them within the first 3 weeks anyways? I had these things brewing in my head for the past few weeks and decided I'll share with you now what I have come up with. Here is my list of resolutions for 2008.

1. End the war in Iraq
2. mandate all states go "Green"
3. lower the gas prices by half-have you seen gas prices in the bay area lately? $3 plus, I know our friends in Europe pay more!
4. end world hunger
5. see Paul McCartney in concert-
6. quit smoking

prior vid tore down- no longet available

Diamond in the Back

FAT bank, FUN is always something to be had in our hard working lives. I have just about given up smoking!~ Damn it's hard!

We all should be thankful for what we got~ like the song says above. Ever been hungry, homeless, without a ride, fear of the unknown? Yep, it's a bitch. Perhaps giving more to those in need this year than making false resolutions to ourselves, would be a more realistic goal? just something to think about~

I wish you a Prosperous & Giving New Year.

Paul had an Angioplasty this past Fall?

Paul had an Angioplasty this past Autumn?

If you haven't seen reports on the net today, Paul McCartney had an Angioplasty this past Autumn, according to online papers. Don't be surprised if this is on Entertainment Tonight or Extra, or Access Hollywood this evening, here is a snippet from the Mail.

"Sir Paul had a coronary angioplasty - a procedure that helps unclog arteries - after seeing a Harley Street specialist at the London Clinic, according to reports.
The former Beatle recovered from the surgery quickly because he took regular exercise and had a trim physique, a friend said, adding:

"He has always been in exceptional health, which is remarkable when you think of the rock 'n' roll lifestyle he once had."

Sir Paul was well enough to perform a duet with Kylie Minogue in front of millions of viewers at New Year. The pair sang his hit Dance Tonight during Jools Holland's New Year special on BBC2.

Harleyblues take:
Well Paul, I like the name of the Street where you saw your specialist "Harley Street" lol
I hope you are doing well Paul, and please do not Russshh! into any tours until you are feeling your Macca best~Your health comes first. I bet people (fans) are worrying about you frantically at this point? I know you will be fine, have fun Paul, & enjoy some R&R you work too hard!~

I was just thinking, I hope this finally gives Geoff Baker & myself included, the incentive to quit smoking for good, Geoff is talking about smoking correction American Spirit's now for days having given up Marlboro. It's tough to quit smoking, ask the other Ga-jillion smokers in the world, it could lead you to this type of procedure like Paul had, and worse. humm
