Watch Paul & The Band Live- Hyde Park, London

For those of you unable to attend Paul McCartney's gig tomorrow at Hyde Park in London- Here is your chance via Youtube ..That's right .. Sunday, Aug 27th- broadcasted live, via Born HIV Free, channel - link here
How cool is that? a free gig online!. Check the link for times zones in your area~

Paul McCartney and his band streamed live at Hyde Park in London- that would 12:30pm on the west coast
3:30 om th east coast :)

Ha, well Jon C. you have a rawkin good time @ Hyde Park I'll be looking for your sign online.. Really happy they will be posting this gig online - verry cool indeed.

So much for a live Gig!
Sun 27th 2:15pm
Am I the only one who thought the gig was going to be shown in it's entirety? the video stream was awful.. highly irritating. The sound was great. The gig was interrupted with frequent service annoucements of AIDS awareness, which is, a great cause- But, c'mon you're going to hype up 'See Paul McCartney LIVE in concert at Hyde Park'- please provide the goods and, do not dupe fans~ with a highly edited 1 hour & 10 min gig. That was a huge tease... The Mexico City, Live gig, was much better..

more later

Londoners Come Together in Trafalgar Square for a Happy Sing-Along to Hey Jude

Where were you April 30th, at 6pm ? as for me, I was sleeping peacefully, dreaming happily, of flying to New York, for the David Lynch Charity Bennie, looking forward to seeing Paul McCartney & Ringo. David Lynch Charity blog post here

While I slept away, something was stirring across the pond. 13,500 Londoners, to be exact

who gathered together, for a happy Sing along in Trafalgar Square. Singing The Beatles -
Hey Jude, sponsered by T Moile. ( I am guessing they're all from London? :) ) see vid below...

T Mobile advertsiment- Trafalgar Square, London

Thenk Goodness, T Mobile had a huge jumo-tron with the lyrics included. to Hey Jude :) so people could sing along. There were some shaky lyrics from some of these, song birds :) however, all in all everyone, in the vid appeared to be having a wonderful time...This musta've left the people, who were there, that day, in such a happy, wonderful mood! What a brillaint idea, T Mobile!! my slogan below would be:

T Mobile bringing the word together thru music- one voice at a time ! I love it!

ps.
I wonder if the commercial above, will be aired in the States? It would make me wanna run out and buy a phone and I'm not the type, usually swayed by ads , .with the exception of the Adidas ad, House Party. I'd air it "All over the place"..:)

You meet the most interesting people with Beatle connections

Like I always say, there is usually not a day, that I donot mention The Beatles, in some form or another. Whether it be at work (damn, I talk about them alot) online, on the phone. or a story or two. The Fab four, are, a source of constant discussion. :)

I met two such persons this past week. One David Andrew from Teignmouth in Devon. David a tall. quiet man with steely blue eyes and brilliant smile. I had mentioned to David and his friend Danny, I was on my way to Ney York, this coming week to attend The David Lynch Charity gig, where Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr will be performing. David mentioned he met the Beatles-well sort of. :)

David & his mates crash Beatles Hotel
It was a fated day in 1967, the Beatles, were in Teignmouth to film the Magical Mystery tour. When David & his mates snuck into the hotel, than gained access to the floor where the Beatles were... staying-ha!
The Beatles, than ran into the kids and said hello, waving to them.

I cannot remember at this moment, what else david had said? I was far too excited to hear about the story. David's grandparents, lived just two doors down from the hotel, seen right.

This photo is of the next morning when the Beatles were leaving....David, was in school and it was sometime around this time David's grandfather walked along from their house
(in photo) were the lads said "Good Morning Sir" as they were getting into their car.

What a brilliant story! I received an email from David today, giving me a link to this foto. He is in Vancouver, Canada. A few years later, David, told me he worked at Harrods in London.

David meets Ringo in Harrods
While working at Harrods, who walks in? Ringo Starr. David said Ringo was rather friendly and an all around nice person. That day David, sold Ringo, A fruit bowl. (no, not a bowl of fruit lol) he said it was a rather nice fruit bowl. Was it crystal David? :)
^
I also asked him, if he had mentioned to Ringo, that day in 1967 in Teignmouth? he said no, well, I had to ask :) What a friendly, English gentleman David was. I was happy to hear his Beatle's stories and glad to have met him. David, currently lives in Vancouver, Canada.

Pat Johnson foto's Yoko Ono
The very next day from meeting David, I formally met Pat Johnson. Pat Johnson, a cool hip, rocker dude with long curly locks of grey with a Rockin - Roll vibe. I thought he was a musician?
^
I also mentioned to Pat & his lovely wife, the Gig, in New York-with Macca, Ringo & Donovan.

Pat's wife, also said she was a Beatles fan too! woohooo, right on! Than Pat, said last year he had photographed Yoko Ono!` No freakin way, I thought?
I mentioned, I finally got Paul's autograph after all these years following him around the world. at the Shark tank of all places. Pat had his lap top, so, I showed him the site here. Poster right, just in case some cannot see it on my side bar...He couldn't believe out of all the millions of people in the world, that I got Paul's' siggy! I couldn't believe he photoed Yoko Ono and a gang load, of amazing artists! Damn! what the?

Pat, than showed me the foto's he took of Yoko, one of them right and another way cool, black and white of her. He asked me what groups I like? I said Zeppelin. Got a foto of them. I noticed Zappa too.
^
Today, I tried to find Pat's webby, here it is. So I went sleuthing to see some of Pat's Piccies-here were some I veiwed over his massive collection:
Frank Zappa, Mick Fleetwood, Elvis Costello, Elton John, Stones, David Bowie, Rick James, Ray Manzerick...On & On and on ...
*
You can guess what Mr. Pat does for a living :)
Geeez, some fantastic fotos, Pat has! See Pat's webby @ Pat Johnson Studios I am still at his webby, looking at all the foto's.
I should send him, this post. foto courtesy Pat Johnson Studios
^
Pat, never had the oppurtunity to fotograph the Beatles themselves. ahhh.~I believe, he also said he met George Harrison, too? I wonder who Pat will photograph- next? Pat, is one cool cat. You never know who you will meet in your daily journey? Well, I am taillights, for now.

Did Paul McCartney just call her a Fatso? YEP!at the Paparazzi

I suppose Paul is back in London now it looks like St. John's Wood, right? I'm not sure when this vid was takin. Yes it is Paul's block I've been there dropped off a lil post card for Paul at his gate (seen at end of vid) I'm actually at a loss for words.. my initial reaction-see the video below. a definite must replay~ha!

Umm WTF? surely Macca must have been provoked while taking a walk with Nancy. Why didn't he tell the Paparazzi to fuck off or something? but calling the girl holding the video camera a fatso ? I almost laughed but thought it kinda mean...and she calls Paul pathetic?... oh man!!

Macca and Nancy taking a stroll in St. John's Wood

what do you think was Paul being provoked? Ok I just had to replay this thing a few times. After watching I cannot help to think it's funny would Paul call fans names I wonder? I'd cry if he called me fatttt!!!! Damn, I call one of my cats fatty, or fatso even tho he really isn't just a term of endearment.
On the other hand when this women tells her kids one day she met Paul McCartney once, she can say "yes, I met Paul McCartney he called me a FATSO! not once but three times" lol now that IS funny!

July 2008: Kiev, London, NYC and Quebec from Brian

^
^
July 2008: Kiev, London, NYC and Quebec from Brian
now wasn't I just asking today on Brian's thread at Paul's webby why we haven't heard from Brian? just got this email~

Just got back from our show in Quebec, a free show for nearly 300,000 people celebrating 400 years of independence. It was quite a sight.. The streets around the Hotel and the streets of the city were filled to the top with people anticipating Paul's arrival there. The local constabulary had to disperse the fans from every possible entrance in advance of our police escort speeding us into the garage of the castle-like Fontenac Hotel.. But hang on...

Our big show in Kiev!

Let's back up because I haven't had time to write all of you since our other BIG show in Kiev in the Ukraine, I've just been sooo busy. So, last we met we just finished the show in Liverpool, right? So, we went back to the south of England to rehearse for Kiev.. 4 beautiful days at Paul's country spot there.

Pulled over by the Ukrainian cops

...We flew into Kiev the day before the show. At dinner on the terrace I met some locals who invited me out for a drive around their city.. and as an ambassador of my own fair city, how could I refuse? It was great until Katya took an illegal left right in front of the cops!! Yeah, so they pulled the 4 of us over and took Katya into the back of the police car to question her.. and closed the door! That would be a lawsuit here!! Anyway, she told them she was showing Paul McCartney's guitarist around.. they insisted she was drunk and demanded 100 Euros!! Wow... so THAT'S how it's done there? Ah, but what a gorgeous city .. and what nice people

Show day - it was POURING.. I mean BUCKETS..

The next day was show day.. woke up to a nice but cloudy day.. Well, pretty soon it started raining... then lightening, thunder and then it was POURING.. I mean BUCKETS.. for an outdoor show with 350,000 expected to show up! The rain stopped for our soundcheck after we postponed it. We all hoped we would have a clear night..

It poured even more. Sheets of rain, more than we had ever seen. Our trailer was almost floating away as Paul calmly continued to learn Ukrainian in the dining/hang out area.. We were all awaiting news of cancellation.. it never came. We walked with umbrellas to a drenched stage and started the show. The people couldn't believe it.. HE'S here!No one left... soon, after about 6 songs the rain slowed.. then it stopped.

The crowd was ecstatic, hearing these songs live for the first time... Wow.. I'll never forget their spirit, standing in the rain, lightning and thunder over us all, not giving an inch of their standing space.. Beautiful!!

Recording in London with a French rock icon

After Kiev I returned to London to begin recording a new CD for Johnny Hallyday, French Rock icon.. A first, I thought the schedule of 12 days, 10 hours a day, no days off was going to be a drag.. By the second day we were all having the time of our life.. great players, great songs and producer, great food and tons of laughs.

And finally... on to beautiful Quebec

So, shoot forward to Quebec... after rehearsing in London we flew to NYC... [105 degrees!!] As the motorcade slithered into the parking garage and we took the backdoors and service elevators to our rooms we looked out over the beautiful Quebec City.. Show day, NO RAIN!! ahhhhhh, nice!

In the Field of Abraham where the French fought for and gained their independence, one certain Englishman returned to sing for them.. As far as you could see there were people.. faces behind the stage for a mile, watching us on another big screen.. and in the nearby city squares and parks as well.. Paul McCartney sang 37 songs, not even counting some segues and impromptu jams... 3 hours. We had a terrific time, thanks to Canada. I LOVE it up there.

No more hyphen for brianray.com!!

Here's some news for y'all. My website, soon to be re-imagined, is now under a new domain name.. brianray.com. That's right... no hyphen!! Yeah, I had to work a deal with a certain fellow who was sitting on it but it's mine now.. I'll return to recording my next record soon with my new home studio almost ready to plug in.

Ok, so that's a LOT.. Sorry to go on and on. Next time I won't wait so long to update my friends.

Wishing you the best summer EVER!!

With love,

Brian

Nice one Brian so you almost got busted in Kiev, huh? what a freakin life you lead Mister!!

Does this ever happen to you the Lag effect of Procrastination?

Does this ever happen to you the lag effect of Procrastination?

Lagging, I have this bad habit of putting things off until the last minute. Ok some may call it procrastination call it what you may. I'm the spur of the moment kinda girl.
I keep notes on pieces of paper and also phones numbers, if I do not already input these numbers in my cell fone.

lol I keep things in stacks or piles and I am not organized, whats that? I know it's a bad habit like smoking or anything that you cannot stop doing, ha.

I focus most of my off time blogging and being on the net, neglecting other areas of my life like cleaning house, paying bills, or hangin out with my peoples.

I suppose it's an escape from the daily grinds of life but if I had my way I'd be in Europe trippin around over there. There is so much info and fun to be had on the net, right?

If you do not have the monies you can search the world over and visit other people and their countries via the web.
One day I spent hours on Craig's list looking at property around the world in awe of property for sale in Paris. Italy London& Hawaii.
(I aspire to own property one day that's if I win the lottery, you do the math)

If this was to happen I'd hire a maid to do the house work, a personal assistant to write down all my messages & my todo's and a Real estate agent to buy property where I live, the Bay area and a flat in London. So until than I must do this myself-ha! So this weekend is here is my todo list

clean the pad
perhaps do a lil bit of laundry
work on a Christmas Beatles project for another blogger
and post my final installment of Paris 04 McCartney gig ( I have seriously lagged on that lol)
Like they say the first step is admitting you have a problem than have a game plan of action!

ta for now

Paul McCartney to play Electric Proms London

Paul McCartney to play the Electric Proms in London

Yesterday Paul McCartney played the Olympia theater, now Paul is off to play
The Electric Proms in London ,October 25 mark your calenders! When fans had heard about Macca playing the Proms earlier this month they went crazy in an attempt to register online with the Roundhouse & Electric Proms websites. Somehow the Roundhouse website went "live" and a few "very lucky fans" got thru and were able to purchase tickets and sold out within a few minutes.

Later on in the month fans from all over the world gathered once again, on their phones and computers attempting to get thru for hours for a last chance effort to see Macca in London. At $25 give or take per ticket, when is the last time you saw Paul McCartney for that amount?

Per Paul McCartneys official webby this morning, registered users recieved an email stating tickets had been released for the upcoming Electric Proms gig. This will be Paul McCartney's last gig for this year!

Damn! Wish I had the funds to fly to London and see Paul one more time!

Purplemelon stress buster hailed as "Miracle Cure"

PRESS RELEASE
The Purplemelon Press Office
T 01380 860 169
M 07971 461 002
PURPLEMELON STRESS-BUSTER HAILED AS "MIRACLE CURE"

The Purplemelon show - recently hailed by Anxiety magazine as "a miracle cure for modern day stressing" - returns by pubic demand to their natural home at The Troubadour Club on Thursday July 26th.

The Seventies-sounding, all-fun rock night with the group now lauded as London's best-looking rock band [ (c) Grazia magazine ] will kick off shortly after the doors open at 8.00 pm
at the former haunt of Jimi Hendrix (265 Old Brompton Road, Earls Court).

Purplemelon are Tom Hill (lead vocal, guitar), Eric Joyce (bass), Windsor McGilvray (drums and groupies), Owen Barry (lead guitar). The band of longhaired lookers were last month acclaimed by The American Institute of Modern Psychology as "the city girl's ideal tonic for the strain of living in London".

The Institute praised the Purplemelon show for "the unusual capacity to brighten your mood no matter what". The Institute's endorsement follows claims in the medical media that watching Purplemelon releases libo-endorphins in the brain, leaving the audience happier, sparkling and pretty much up for it.

To achieve the best effect of stress-relief from a Purplemelon show, attendees are advised to practice the following steps on the three days prior to the gig:

* Write down all your worries; read the list before trying to sleep.
* Don't count your blessings - you haven't got any. Count your problems instead.
* Turn on and turn up all the electrical appliances in any room you are in. Never turn anything off.
* Only buy small expensive things that are easy to lose.
* Replace all home and office lamp bulbs with overhead neon strip lights. Preferably ones that flicker.
* Never clear the air over disagreement, let stuff fester.
* Wear shoes one size too small.
* Try to maximise your consumption of food additives and banned E-numbers.
* Make schedules including an unrealistic number of tasks, so you can agonise over why you are constantly falling behind.
* Isolate yourself from human contact and shout at anyone who attempts to invade your personal space.
* Always ignore any woman's obvious new hair-style.
* Shout at people outside your department at least twice a day.
* Smoke. Smoke Gauloises in No Smoking areas.
* Stitch people up as often as possible, especially your friends.
* Always join in other people's arguments over matters that have nothing to do with you. Try to get strangers to join in too.
* Do not meditate; why meditate when you can worry? Worrying is meditation carried out by realists.
* When sending a press release, remember that small print annoys everybody.
